Red Sky???

OK,I don't want to sound like a total dunce here but why are the last 2 seasons of TMNT !994-1996 referred to as "Red Sky"?Just curious.

The sky was red, heh. Those later seasons had a darker tone and art style, from what I remember.

Last 3 seasons, actually. And "Red Sky" is just a widely accepted fan-given title that helps differentiate those seasons from the first seven.

B:TAS had a red sky in several episodes, which is what I assume TMNT was trying to imitate.

Definitely. Batman really changed the game for most animated action shows, and you can really see its influence on TMNT.

I was thinking this myself, but then I couldn't recall any episodes before The New Batman Adventures which had a red sky, and those episodes didn't come out until after the last season of TMNT was over.

I mean, I'm sure B:TAS had a red sky in plenty of episodes...I just can't for the life of me picture it. :p The newer series had a red sky in just about every episode, it seems, so I definitely associate the red sky with the '97–'99 episodes more.
