Christmas is coming...are you ready for gifts exchange?

So, pretty much Christmas already, huh? We have bought our tree and stockings. Have you started preparing for Christmas yet? What do you want for Christmas and what would you gift to your closest one?

Ninjinister 11-08-2010 08:20 PM

I decided to make gifts for my family this year. Unfortunately, though I don't think I'll have them finished >.<

I'll be ready by the time the fat man gets here.

Yeah, a wee bit nuts, eh?

I'm not much for holiday spirit this time 'round. Sh!t has hit the fan at home.

Koi 11-08-2010 09:16 PM

But trees die, buying them this early... they'd die by Christmas :(

gobo 11-09-2010 07:40 AM

Plastic never dies... or stinks up the house. ;)

No real preparation for me just yet. Gonna start shopping soon just so I can get it over with.

TheCanadiandrome 11-09-2010 02:28 PM

nothing too major going on that i know of. my Dad got injured on the job during the end of October and is going to at least need 4-6 months recovery (he broke his ankle in several places) so not even sure we're going anywhere this year. which doesn't bother me

discordiatookie 11-09-2010 02:52 PM

Bit hardcore, working Christmas day, no? I've got 22-25th off, then back to work for boxing day - euch. F**kin' retail.

I got some of my decorations and one of my Christmas Trees (yes I display two) down from the attic already. Present buying almost done, Turkey sorted and just stocking up to avoid the last minute December panic buy fest.

Christmas starts early and stops late at my place.

I'm most likely working on Christmas, but I'll be getting $30/hour. I'd work every holiday for that kind of pay.

ToTheNines 11-10-2010 08:08 AM

I got my cousin Batman: Under the Red Hood and my other cousin an X-games highlight DVD. Other than that I'm blanking on what to get Mom, Dad, Sis and the gang.

No worries though, I love the Christmas season too much to get stressed out over it.

I hate holidays and I'm not looking forward to Christmas anymore. It's just a day with no meaning for me. Don't really care about getting presents either.

Still in that "rebel phase," huh? Don't worry, you will appreciate holidays someday.

A little *too* Raph 11-10-2010 08:47 AM

I won't think about Christmas (with the exception of maybe a small gift purchase here or there) until after Thanksgiving. After that it's full speed ahead!

Koi 11-10-2010 09:03 PM

I personally love during the holidays to sing/hum a song in a store in which then another person will hear then hum, then another, then another. Then soon enough behind every corner there is a person sing/humming/whistling that song.

I can't wait to attend my first Black Friday. Sound fun.
About half of my family are buying presents right now, I had no idea till my mom was talking about it. This year I really don't want presents like Bubbly, but my reason is just because I am pretty non materialistic and prefer watching others opening presents, especially the kids. My neices and nephews are a joy to watch. Some of them prefer the wrapping paper and tape over the toy itself.
Christmas is fun. The kids get toy guns, computers, game systems, my older brothers end up taking the toy guns and go and play with them and shoot each other, lose several of the bullets.
We use to have Christmas karaoke, don't know why we don't do that anymore.
We read parts of the book of John, I am not really that religious, but I am a sucker for tradition.
My older sister and I use to sit under the Christmas tree when we were younger and stare at the glowing light bulbs that went into music sequences with catchy Christmas songs, after we help put up the decorations. There is usually a color theme to the tree. My mom is thinking about silver and gold for this year.
The house smells like cookies, my moms cooks cookies for hours, sometimes even half the night to Christmas. They all somehow get ate within half the next day.
I also love my moms Watergate salad that she makes!
My brother is a super chef and makes amazing pies.
We have a giant Christmas breakfast that lasts the entire day. I am not to partial to breakfast, but oh well.
I personally love Christmas commercials on tv, I love all those movies that are on every year. We personally watch a Christmas story every year.
I also love driving through the neighborhoods with my mom or sister and looking at everyone's decorations.
Our family also loves to take in friends or people we know who don't have a family to have Christmas with or Thanksgiving.

Christmas is the bomb, how do you not enjoy all the festivity and joy it brings to people Bubbly?
