Well... I remember at 2k3 cartoon, there was an epissode where April ask the turtles to learn ninjitsu and they refuse gently and flashback a story about it: the 4 little turtle-toddlers try to teach a small boy their skills, ...that small boy will be Casey Jones, and Gongala!! was a mix&result of the differents lessons of the turtle-toddlers...It was very funny !

Hope someone can explain better after all I had seen those cartoons in english...(not my first languague! :toops: )

It's Casey's "battle cry" in the 2k3 series.

Not the 2k3 series, it originated in the Mirage comics.

Do you people read the comics? Casey has been saying this since 1985.

While he has been saying it in the comics for years, I'm not sure any explanation is given. In the 2k3 series, when young Mikey was trying to give young Casey a ninjitsu lesson, he told him a Japanese word (I forget the meaning). In a confrontation a bit later, Casey butchers the word and "Goongala" comes out.

It came from an old Tarzan movie, according to Dan Berger.

I seem to recall someone bringing up that the phrase was used in Caddyshack. But, it's Casey Jones's battle cry.

Close... April was badgering the Turtles to train her, but they kept putting her off. When she asked why, that's what started the flashback. The guys thought they had been failures as teachers, but the thing they weren't aware of was that the kid named Arnold they had just taught to stand up for himself was Arnold Casey Jones. ^_^ "Goongala" was Casey's mispronunciation of some battle cry lil' Mikey was trying to get him to say. I believe it was, "Goro Goro Sama!"

Fugitoid Jones 12-06-2010 11:36 PM

"Goongala" is actually a reference to a series of brawls, or 'rumbles', that took place in NY back in the 30's between warring mobs. A "gala of goons" one might say.

...actually that's bs. I have no idea what it means. :tlol: I was always curious too.

I have never really liked Goongala. Sounds really, dumb IMO. But hey, whatever floats you boat.
