Sneaky Saban

I just watched 4 episodes of the "next mutation" and i just have to say, Sneaky Sneaky saban entertainment, as most know Mike Nunchku were replaced with Tonfa's well i noticed for the first time when he;s swining them around they come apart like the toys and are like Nunchukus. I just found this funny because you have to watch it frame by frame, i saw thanks to youtubes unneeded pauses and skips.Did it air unedited in the Uk?Or were those frames taken out? and Whats become of the Sub way set?I hope they use it in the new movie.

How edgy of Saban. I'm floored.

I see right through your veiled sarcasm Modeen!

Srsly though, I doubt that set survived. Thats a lot of sound stage that I'm sure has been re-purposed a couple bajillion times by now.

Yeah its a shame, i wonder what the new turtles lair will be, maybe they'll make a whole new subway set.

And the nunchuku things is still a big deal in some countries other than the united states, thats why i said "Sneaky Saban".Yes the UK eased up on the whole ninja thing but a few other countries still gripe.

Like Norway, non-coated chucks are still illegal. Or let be phrase myself, anything that can go under "Karate Sticks" directly translated) is illegal unless you have a permit or practice a martial arts that specifically uses that "stick"

I wonder how many wooden or stick-like items are used in various martial arts... Oh right... I love my country some times.

But hey! Sharp swords are perfectly okay as long as you are over 16:roll:

What was the deal with the "ninja" stuff being a problem in the UK anyway? What incited all that? I read about it on the TMNT wiki page but could never figure out exactly why they were concerned about ninjas.

Google is your friend, but the jest of it was censorship. Ninja was associated with violence and the nunchucks, was popular after the Bruce Lee films and a lot easier to make your self. And why the Bo was not banned, is because they underestimate the sheer awesomeness and lethality that is a broomstick made of hard Oak.

Wow what episode was this in? and near what area? do you remember? or even better do you remember what the youtube video was, like the uploader or name of it or anything? I'd be excstatic to see that as I was always perplexed by the toy, and thinking LOL why the hell did they doo that??? but NOW IT MAKES SENSE i feel like i've just uncovered the secret of the universe!!! *keels over and faints

I created a thread a couple weeks ago entirely devoted to that topic!

What was the point?

Word of warning, Mr. Modeen shows up making his smartass comments on the cartoon on that thread as well!

You're responding to a banned member who made that post before your thread was even made. And who the f*ck is Mr. Modeen?

I think he's talking about Andrew NDB.

Sorry, I wasn't paying attention to the time stamps on the posts.

I rarely noticed that Mikey didn't have nunchucks because the weapons are barely used at all in the show. I think even the second movie showed the weapons more often than the show did. It makes you think why they even bothered to think of gimmicks for the trademark weapons, though I did like Leo's scissors sword, even if it was only ever shown like 4 times.

TNM stunt team kinda sucked, the Power Rangers episode where the TMNT crossed over had the best fight scenes those turtles had and it wasn't even in their own show. And hey, MMPR might seem as pretty damn campy now but it was considered fairly violent for a kids show when it came out. It almost makes you wonder if ripping hearts out will be the norm for kids cartoons in 20 years ;) Maybe you WILL get your ideal version of the turtles as a kids show one day.
