How to meet real TMNT
Hello everyone,
I need your help and if you cannot help me then no one will. One of my daughters is deeply in love with Leonardo. She is 6 years old. She writes to him on a regular basis and he replies ("he" being "Me"). She dreams to meet with him much more than Little Mermaid!!! Leonardo is strong, he beats the monsters, he is a leader. She sees a lot of good things in him and he makes her feel stronger and better about life and to get through difficult times. She talks about him every week. I would go anywhere in the World to meet with Leonardo or any TMNT. I hear they are no longer at Disney Hollywood studios. Are they at Universal Studios? Do they appear in conventions? Is there a guided tour of NY sewers where we get to meet one or more turtles? Where are they? I want to meet the turtles in real and not in a cheap costume. Any help to find them will be so much apreciated. We watch the movies over and over and over. I was so happy to learn there is a new movie with (probably) real characters for 2012. I can imagine her huge smile when we will get to the theatre. Hopefully it won't be too violent so that she can see it. |
Aww. Good dad.
Anywho, I would have put this in the other section of the forums as you're more likely to get better answers. To the question at hand.....I don't believe ther are any "public attraction" turtles anymore. Not right now anyway. I suppose if the movie does well you might see some again. However, there are some people, some that even post on this forum (in the TMNT sections you're more likely to run into them) who have made very nice TMNT costumes. Check fanworks. Maybe if you get to know some of them they might be willing to let a "turtle" meet your kid. |
You're right, it took me a while to find back this thread...
I am amazed by the quality of the costumes I have seen so far. So sad there is no permanent attraction somewhere. I am sure someone somewhere does like Michaelangelo in the 2007 movie, i.e. kids party. The neighboor had a Dora coming over once, why can't we get a Leonardo? Still hoping to find a TMNT, a real one :P |
I find this thread adorable with a slight tang of creepiness.

That's awesome your little girl is that into the Leonardo! I have a 3yr. old that is the same way but she wants to meet Donatello and every time we leave the house she sees the manhole cover in the street in front of our house and asks " Daddy when can we go down there and find the turtles?" But maybe you can get a costume made like some of the guys on here and dress up in it and act like your Leo...that's what I plan to do eventually.

Step 1. Find/build a time machine that goes back 20 years.
|
When I was her age I used to throw letters down into the sewers addressed to Donatello. Sadly I never got a response! I'm still waiting. :)
It's great you're into this for your daughter. I hope my future children will love the TMNT too, and I will definitely get a real-esque Donny costume so they can "meet" him! |
Put urself into a TMNT costume and im sure ur daughter will see something out of it.

They'll probably become a Universal Attraction at some point since Nick owns them now...doesn't Nick share lots with Universal Orlando?

This is how it is going down. You go buy a fishing rod, go to New York, buy a pizza, buy some really bizarre toppings to put on it. I suggest pickles and mayonnaise. Then sit down by a sewer opening, place pizza onto hook of fishing rod, dunk that bad boy into the sewers and catch yourself a ninja turtle.
The only problem that may arrive is the fact that they are ninjas. Soooo maybe you should dunk the pizza into chloroform or something and maybe it will knock the crap out of the ninja turtle. This way you could successfully bring the turtle home to your daughter. I hope I helped :3 |

My daughters will start Karate this fall so they could practice with the turtles. Whoever is in the costume better know some moves...or wear a jockstrap!!! This forum is great to know everything including the latest news, you are awesome. A new movie next year, maybe a Universal attraction. That would be too cool. We plan to go down there in a couple years. Just found the 25th Anniversary Blu Ray edition with a tuque and discs that look like pizza. Amazing stuff. TMNT will rule forever in our home :tgrin: |
