TMNT Fan Commentaries: An Ongoing Series

Hello all, Jester here. A while back, during the 25th anniversary, I proposed doing some sort of fan commentary of one of the more lackluster entries in the TMNT universe, to kinda lovingly MST3k the crud out of it. Last week, oldmanwinters approached me about bring it back, and once we worked out the logistics, we came up with this. There is mostly static shots of the 1st episode here, to avoid copyright infringement...heck if you know a good site to upload audio files for sharing, please share. you should be a be to sync this too the first episode pretty well.
Here's part 1:

and here's part 2:

EDIT: Visit this page for the audio only commentary for the first 5 episodes:

wow jester thats really neat man, you should do it for the real dvds!!!

Ah, figures the Angry Video Game Nerd would try and steal our thunder!

Now everybody will accuse us of ripping him off!:tlol:

Well, maybe he's just gonna do some overview videos. Anyway, we're bigger Turtle nerds than he is.:tgrin:
Also, Jester's Pat Fraley impersonation of Krang is awesome!

Definitely enjoyed the commentary, guys.. :) hopefully you Will do more soon. I'd love to see you comment on Shredder and Splinter's battle..

After the initial "season" (the 5 part pilot) we plan to be a bit more random in our choice of episodes, and maybe even intergrate "guest commentators" (logistics permitting).

Not only that... the Nostalgia Critic also reviewed all 5 episodes.

Yeah, I remember that from back in December, but he also did an overview review. I guess he and the Nerd tend to cover a lot of the same material.

Yep, and once we finish the pilot, we'll have the whole deep TMNT universe to play with: The OT, the NT, and maybe the movies, comics, and....dare I say....Next Mutation and other heart shattering TMNT oddities. (I'm looking at you Coming out of Their Shells tour!)

I heard the commentary, it's pretty cool. I'm not sure but wasn't that secretary also seen in TMNT issue 1 of the Mirage comics? Saki was also running a sort of fake security organization before the Turtles challenged him to the rooftops.

As far as I remember Saki's taking a meeting, but we don't see his secretary.

I LOLd at OT Leo's "bloody" swords at 6:51. And the Venus reference.

This is pretty good. I'd like to see more of this then.

that was awesome guys , i look forward to more.

I'm glad everybody is getting some laughs out of the video, but I do hope we are able to find a good repository for hosting the audio files. My dream is to create a TMNT equivalent of what this guy did with the DC Animated Universe cartoons:

Hopefully we'll be able to order commentary tracks by series and create a nice fan resource for further enjoyment.

I figure if people want to listen to a track, they can download each file individually and then listen to it while they watch their DVDs.

Great job, really enjoyed it!

That's pretty cool. I'd love to record a commentary with you some time, Jester.

Jephael 02-28-2011 08:30 PM

A 3-person commentary? Man, that'd be interesting! I can think of a couple good episodes I'd love to review.

Jester 02-28-2011 08:54 PM

That's the plan for some future installments, to draft a 3rd fan so it is Winters, Me and a him/her.

Machias Banshee 02-28-2011 09:28 PM

Sounds like fun... :)
