Know What Nickelodeon Should Do With DVD Releases?
This won't happen (I know this after seeing the amount of effort put into the Turtles Forever DVD - about zero) but I thought of an interesting way DVDs could be released by Nickelodeon in the future (If they get around to making 4Kids DVDs).
One The Spectacular Spider-Man DVD release had the first three episodes strung together to form one Spidey movie. For one reason or another, they canceled further production of this after about a month and took all the movies off the shelves, and replaced them with DVDs with the episodes un-strung together - just regular episodes. I guess that makes the movie forms rare (I have one :D). The 4Kids TMNT series is largely based on story - why not string the episodes together? Here's season one to serve as an example. 1) Things Change - Things Change, A Better Mousetrap, and Attack of the Mousers all strung together. 2) Meet Casey Jones - Meet Casey Jones, Nano, and Darkness on te Edge of Town strung together. 3) Fallen Angel - The Way of Invisibility, Fallen Angel, and Garbageman strung together. 4) The Shredder Strikes - The Shredder Strikes - Part One, The Shredder Strikes - Part Two, and The Unconvincing Turtle Titan all strung together. 5) Notes From the Underground - The three Notes from the Underground Episodes strung together into a movie. 6) Return of the Shredder - The King, The Shredder Strikes Back - Part One, The Shredder Strikes Back - Part Two, Tales of Leo, and the Monster Hunter strung together into a two-hour movie. 7) Return to New York - The three Return to New York episodes strung together into a movie. 8. The Search for Splinter - Lone Raph and Cub, The Search for Splinter - Part One, and The Search for Splinter - Part Two strung together. I think it'd be kind of cool, don't you? |
That wouldn't look right with the narrated intros.

Isn't that kinda Nick's MO with Sponge Bob? They run the opening credits, 3 or 4 episodes, then an extended end credits sequence.
|
All cartoons now go by the 26 episode format for dvd reasons. It fits well, good thing this series fits that format as well. 4Kids did it right the last time, Season 1 1 of 2 etc.

I always pretty much hate when several episodes of something are strung together to form a movie. It never really works well and it typically ends up forcing stuff to get cut.
Just release the episodes in order, uncut. Thanks. |

I'm sorry man, but this is an awful idea. I mean... really bad.

Yeah, I'd rather not have to watch eps I don't like. That's one of the things I like about the DVDs I have. You can watch only certain eps and can skip the ones that aren't your cup of tea. When I watch my Shredder Strikes Back DVD I skip The King and go straight to SSB part 1 and watch from there.
|
How could you skip the King? That ep was excellent.
Also why do people skip eps on DVDs? If you're doing a complete run of the show, even watching episodes you didn't care for makes sense. |
Well, what if episodes that were in parts (the Big Brawl, Turtles in Space, World Collide, Shredder Strikes Back, etc.) were strung together in future DVD releases? Would that be a better idea?

In as few releases as possible so loyal customers can get the most bang for their buck! |

Which is why I suggested getting rid of the next ep's intro because it's only a recap of past episodes.

a horrible idea, that have been done before.
season 1 of the Fred Wolf cartoon was made into one movie and it failed miserably, so much important things was cut away. The entire Baxter episode was missing, just one big incoherent mess. |
