Turtle-rific Pizza!!
So tonight for dinner my wife and I went to Larry's Pizza because it was what they call the "Pizza Parade" where they bring pies fresh from the oven on to the floor as a sort of walking buffet, and you stop the server to get a slice. Tonight I had a slice of:
Chesse Pizza Peperoni Pizza Meat Madness Pizza Canadian Bacon and Cheddar Chicken Bacon Ranch Pizza Honey Mustard Chicken Pizza BBQ Chicken Pizza And the wackiest of the night for me: Baked Potato Pizza (As Mikey would say, "With sour cream sauce and bacon and chive topping!") Would have had the Cheese Burger Pizza which the menu describes as: Quote:
So the question is, "Is there anywhere you can go locally to get some odd, almost Turtle-esque pizza toppings?" |
No, But man that place sounds AWESOME! You won me over at MEAT MADNESS!! Sweet irony! The only pizza parlourish place i can think of local to me (in Australia) is Pizza hut and an American pizza stall at a shopping centre (mall) and even then they are pretty basic toppings. We gotta make our own wacky toppings.

I want to go to there...

I made a pizza at home once when I was very little, with Skittles & American cheese. IT sucked. Thanks a lot, TMNT.

Sounds nauseating...:tsick:
And if any of you ever happen to come this way, we could so meet up at Larry's for a slice. |
You can always just go to California Pizza Kitchen.
|
Sound amazing and yummy!
My new love is Papa Murphy's, you walk in and create a pizza and walk out with it no bake style; then enjoy at home. They have a buffet of toppings and I know it is a chain but maybe just in NorCal?? |

The pizza place I worked at for a short period of time, there weren't any really strange pizzas. There are some that I don't find at a lot of pizza places, though:
Out of the Garden -- Spinach, broccoli, green peppers, mushrooms, onion, fresh garlic. Caesar, Please -- Chicken, pesto, fresh garlic, artichokes. Margarita -- Fresh tomato, basil, olive oil (instead of pizza sauce), garlic, black pepper WOW -- Sun-dried tomatoes, spinach, fresh tomatoes, feta, pesto, fresh garlic, olive oil or pizza sauce. White -- Provolone, ricotta, mozzarella, fresh garlic, black pepper, olive oil or pizza sauce. Check it out. http://www.wisepies.com/ |

I had never heard of them until I moved out here. The first pizza I tried of theirs was a cheese steak pizza. Apparently they do seasonal specials that are pre-made; I will keep my eye out for a Cowboy one

Says there are several in the Nashville area...where you from? |
We have a pizza place around here that has:
Chicken Cordon Bleu Pizza Macaroni and Cheese Pizza Taco Pizza The BLT Pizza Those are my favorites. Otherwise, you know..I like the usual stuff: flies, stinkbugs.....:tgrin: |
My Japanese college flatmate introduced to us:
Japanese Pizza......and it is the most delicious thing EVER. You might think that mayonnaise on pizza is gross....but....it's not. I guess there are 2 kinds.... Okonomiyaki (Japanese Pizza) and this one below, in which I am referencing: They start with a pretty standard American style pizza and then add all kinds of stuff not common in America but very delicious. For example here is what’s on some of the pizza’s in this ad. The first pizza on this add called "Mix-J" has onions, green peppers, salami, bacon, corn and pizza sauce. #2 is called "German Taste" and has bacon, potato, onion mayonnaise, pizza sauce, #3 is called "Curry German" and has potato, bacon, tuna, onions, corn and curry sauce. #4 is called "Meat Gratin" with onions, macaroni, corn, mushrooms, meat sauce, parsley and white sauce. #5 is "Basil Deluxe" and is made from Basil sauce, tuna, bacon, crushed tomatoes, Italian sausage #8 is called I think "Downtown Special" and it has cherry shrimp, squid, dried benito, octopus, cabbage, yakisoba and okonomiyaki sauce. #15 is called "Hot Dog Pizza" and has cabbage, wieners, scrambled eggs and tomato ketchup. #17 called "Teriyaki Chicken" and has guess what … teriyaki chicken, mayonnaise, cabbage, nori and of course teriyaki sauce. You’ll have to trust me. This stuff is awesome. Actually many of them would be easy to make here. #2, #4, #5, #15. The tuna (the kind from a can like you’d make a tuna salad sandwich with) and the mayo both really make a big difference. It shouldn’t seem all that strange either. Anybody who’s been to a California Pizza Kitchen should know that pizza doesn’t have to just be cheese and pepperoni. |

That has to be one of the worst food ideas I've ever heard. Kids will try anything, I suppose. |
When my dad was in the Air Force we were stationed in Italy...home of the pizza. In the "supermarket" they had "American Pizza" which was topped with corn...'cause us Americans love us some corn.
Also, Pepperoni...doesn't exist as we know it. Pepperoni were little yellow peppers. Pizza alla diavola is what I often ordered, and LOVED it. It was as close as you could get and the "diavola sausage" was sweet and spicy...soooo good. |
