The ACT's ( how did you do ? )

I graduated high school 2 years ago , this fall i'm going to college. I was really stubborn in high school and refused to take the ACT , so I had to take it a few weeks ago

i just got my results back and i did a lot better than i expected.

Composite score - 23

English - 25

Math - 16

Science - 19

Reading - 33

I only had to get an 18 to get into the Elementary Education program i applied for. I hate math and i was always very bad at it , so i found it extremely hard.

i was wondering , how did you guys do on your ACT's when you took them?

& what did you think was the hardest section ?

what is ACT? is it like the SAT?

Jester 04-29-2011 02:13 PM

Yeah, it's one of 2 college entrance exams here in the USofA. I got a combined 23 as well...but I took the ACT almost 10 years ago...so...

I took the SAT's, like NORMAL people.

I took both tests. Blah. 32 on the ACT. 2000-something on the SAT. I can't remember that one. I did well on the GMAT too.....can't remember that score either but I got accepted to tons of schools and got a lot of scholarships.

The dean of the college told me the ACT was the more relevant test and that's what i needed to take.

SAT , ACT , ABCDEFG , I could care less i just did what he asked.

a 32 , wow that's awesome. what are you majoring in?

Katie 04-30-2011 06:55 AM

Two majors. Finance and marketing. I finished school already though.

I took the ACT because on that one you weren't penalized for guessing. Definitely the math was the hardest for me because of my learning disability. But I was able to go to college, so I know I did well.

I got a 23 composite. Which was ok. I remember doing really bad on the science cuz I was falling asleep during one of the readings. so that brought me down a lot. My english and reading were pretty high though.

what's a ACT?

edit: nevermind, Google is my friend... Seems to be an American thing, so obviously I have not done it :P

This right here. The SAT's were rough, and I got a horrible score. Shows those tests don't work since I got a Physics degree.

I never did the ACTs. I graduated in 1999, though. There wasn't much emphasis on the ACTs. I knew of it, but seems they were drilling into our brains to take the SATs. I did lousy on the SATs and took it twice. I suck at standardized tests.

I heard they have SAT II tests now, and by the set up of that, I probably would've done better with it.
