Was the 4Kids TMNT cartoon as good as the MYP MOTU cartoon.
 

Does anyone feel that the 2003 4Kids Ninja turtles cartoon was on par with the 2002 MYP He-man cartoon.

I think they both were better than the original cartoons. MOTU could have been better than TMNT, if they hadn't cancelled it. They're about equally good.

I disliked He-Man back in the day... a lot. I loved He-Man 2002. I liked TMNT back in the day, though mainly as a more readily-accessible substitute for ThunderCats (which only the pilot miniseries was an adequate example of). I loved 2K3. So, objectively, I think they were equally awesome examples of franchise revivals done right. Subjectively though, I hold more respect for He-Man as it came such a long way IMO. Plus, He-Man's reboot didn't survive long enough to go through the unnecessary, undignified design changes.

The 2000's He-Man had the potential to have the same kinda run the 2000's Turtles cartoon had. It's a shame that the He-Man cartoon was canceled after only 39 episodes. I think that they were pretty much equal to each other. They were great cartoons for both children and adults, and I loved both of them equally.

From the few episodes of He-man 2k2 I saw from the first season, the show seemed terribly formulaic to me. That whole Skeletor always get away at the end of the show "just because" really paled in contrast to the TMNT where Leonardo beheads the Shredder the first (or second) chance he gets.

It wasn't so much an issue of one show being "darker" than the other, since that designation doesn't say anything about a show's quality. I thought the art style in He-man 2k2 had much more of an atmospheric edge to it than the bright colors of TMNT2k3. It's just that He-man struck me as a really cool looking show that didn't seem (initially) to have an ambition in its storytelling. They seemed to be going for formula rather than plot resolution. That's what I meant by citing the "Return to New York" finale, since it established that the TMNT creative team was thinking about plot twists and story progression rather than recycling the same basic plot with new means of execution. At the time, I was very much against "formula" in my action cartoons.

They had some similarities... But at least TMNT wasn't killed by Toy mismanagement...
Also in both shows the 80s music beats the 00s music!
MYP Prince Adam was Vintage Leo! That blew my mind ALL THE TIME! (and He-Man was Liquid Snake!)

The second season with nazis... I mean Snake Men was way better. I'm also glad we got to see Hordak at least in one episode.
