Advice about the NECA turtles
I'm looking into finally getting a hold of some of the NECA turtles. I couldn't find any at any retailers in my area when they were released. I've been browsing ebay lately and am wondering how much I should pay for them as well as how big they actually are because I keep seeing 5 inch and was under the impression that they were larger than that. Any advice would be awesome.

$60/80 for the black and white set boxed
$80/120 for the colored set , depend wich edition (Comic Con ex. are cons. as rares) $20/40 for the individual box colored turtles, but they mostly go for 40 n' more except Michelangelo, I think, theses days. |
Out of nowhere there become available an over abundance of the NECA Tube Turtles (the ones not in the original packaging w/ the base) on eBay and you can get most of them for (as was said) $15-40 each, depending on the auction. You'll shell out (pun intended) the most for Raphael.
If you want the MIP original packaging + base, you can get Michelangelo for a decent price but the others (especially Donatello & Raphael) you probably won't find for cheaper than $60. |
Okay that's about what I figured. And if it says 5" figure it's the legit size?

Just don't buy any of those factory defects from Hong Kong. There's a reason why they just appeared out of nowhere for so cheap.

If you are willing to use an Asian vendor, they are like $30 for every set you can think of. I don't trust it though.:tcry:

Okay I think I found one I trust and will buy when I get payed tomorrow. One last question, What all accessories come in the tube packaging?
|
Just checked. The one I'm looking at is a tube packaged Donny. The seller is out of china but they are top-rated, should I be worried?
Also sorry about the double post |

Alot of factory defects or B stock comes out of Asia, and alot of bootleg stuff. I have no clue if they are bootlegs, I don't think they are. But I for one wouldn't trust it. To each there own I guess. Quote:

But they're legit, factory figures. No defects or bootlegs. |
I've bought a LOT of figures from these sellers (Mostly Marvel Legends & DC Classics) and other than missing accessories (on the loose figures) they're identical to the regular release. They're probably production figures that have been "liberated" just before packaging.

I bought them, and I liked them.
Is that bad? There out of production. |

NECA no loner has a license to produce them so the only thing you are doing cutting down on the value of the originals on the secondary market and costing Viacom a small amount for their licensing fee. The latter is not a good thing. But given how much other LICENSED stuff we buy, I don't think they care too much about a few hundred bootlegs of old figures.
