Yeah, most of the "manga" films are for adults. But I guess that's why I like them, it's not just animation but one with a gripping, aesthetic plots. And the gore doesn't bother me too bad (even though one scene did give me a 'splitting headache'!)

LOL!! I agree with ya, HT! That's why I love anime so much...it deals with a lot of subjects that American animation just won't do. There are tons of anime out there that deal with all kinds of subjects. It's quite amazing. :smile:

Yeah... hrmm... so what sort of meaning did you make out of the ending of Akira? Was it something along the lines of Titan AE, but just for the inhabitants of NeoTokyo?

i still don't understand the ending. it just goes over my head.

Y'know, the ending is still somewhat of a mystery for me. I'm thinking that Akira took the wrinkly kids and Tetsuo with him to a place where they would no longer be in pain. In other words, he was their saviour, liberating them from their suffering.
And I haven't seen Titan AE!! I need to rent that.
