Who is going to draw the new "tales"?

Any guesses? Dan Berger and Michael Dooney are otherwise occupied, Peter himself is way too busy. A newcomer maybe?
BTW, who did the old "Tales"-books? I have never read them.

i havnt heard anything about the new series coming out...some where on the board i read theres 2 coming....what are they?

SavantiRomero 04-21-2003 12:35 AM

Well if Dooney can't do it, I'd like to see Mark Bode Return. Or AC Farly.

Both would do extreme justice.

I wrote Dan a while back, and he mentioned working on Tales. I dunno if this means he'll be drawing/writing, or if he's just helping with production.

Sparvid 04-21-2003 04:22 AM

1. What is Dooney busy with?

2. Lawson penciled most of the old Tales issues, if I remember it correct.

3. I want to see either Dooney or Farley...

Sorry, my mistake, I thought he had an own series to do. So maybe he'll do it! That would be cool!

Karpo_007 04-21-2003 05:50 AM

I have always liked Dooney's style, Especially in "Challenges" Graphic novel. Im hoping he would do it...

Anarchistguy 04-21-2003 06:13 AM

Yeah, Dooney's good, but can't Laird do it??

Barkworm 04-21-2003 06:20 AM

That would be the best but he has said more than one time that he has not enough time.

Anarchistguy 04-21-2003 06:23 AM

oh. yeah, I forgot about that detail...

SavantiRomero 04-21-2003 07:25 AM

Here's the issue I have. Peter says he doesn't have enough time, and he will continue with the TMNT until he no longer has fun with it.

So what's the deal? Can't he make time to have fun with it?

What is he doing? Last I checked Planet racers wasn't doing all that well. TMNT is.

Just a gripe, but I do think I have a point here.

Karpo_007 04-21-2003 07:47 AM

He is writing the new volume and workin closely with the cartoon writers. And Im pretty sure he does many other things in Mirage studios.

heretic888 04-21-2003 08:49 AM

heh

Not to mention he has a family and friends and a life, too. :P

I don't think Tales will have an ongoing writer or artist. It will probably be a little different every issue (although Laird assures us he will keep a VERY close eye on how things are done now).

Tetsu Deinonychus 04-21-2003 08:50 AM

After Eastman and Laird, Dooney was always my favorite Mirage artist.

Yeah it would be cool to see the book bring back some of the old Mirage artists...

Jim Lawson drew all of the original Tales before going onto the regular series at #48. He's done every Mirage issue since

Karpo_007 04-21-2003 09:22 AM

He also pencilled "Return to NY".

Well now Peter is busy with a lot of the new TMNT projects. There's more than just the comic book. There's the new cartoon, where he's credited as "Creative Director," and the Hallmark movie project and who knows what else. Between doing all of this he has to find the time to write, letter, and tone the comic. Pencilling is time consuming.. I have no doubts that he doesn't have the time to do it.

Now, do I think he should find the time to do a page here and a page there of a story that could eventually be published in Tales? Absolutely!

Anarchistguy 04-21-2003 02:12 PM

And to think...a couple of years after the last episode of the old TMNT toon, everyone thought the TMNT were going to waste.

heretic888 04-22-2003 09:57 AM

hmmm

I would love to see AC Farley return to the TMNT. His work was brilliant.
