TMNT Micro-Series #3 Donatello
 

Hey everyone, some news regarding the upcoming Donatello (and Leonardo) one-shots from IDW...

The artist for the Donatello Micro-Series will be Valerio Schiti. The picture shown below is a pin-up of Donatello that Valerio did (but this is not planned to be the cover of any of the Don issues). Ross Campbell, the artist originally slated for the Donatello Micro-Series, is now expected to do the Leonardo Micro-Series in April.

Lucky! I'm glad Ross landed another opportunity after all!

I can't really tell from that sketch, but I'm not at first glance too thrilled with that artist doing Donnie's. I guess I'll have to wait until we get some more work from him...

Good news on both issues! Donatello's artist reminds me a bit of Chris Allan...

Schiti is doing the Infestation 2 D&D book and he did the prelude pages in the Infestation Ashcan.

Wow, these micro-series issues have certainly gotten me more excited than the entire first issue arc!

When does this issue come out? And this issue is supposed to tie into the Infestation arc, right?

Did some looking around and found out it comes out in Feb. So that answers one question, but the other still remains.

Right now it's scheduled for release on Feb. 29 but I'd say to allow for a week or two delay given that the others have also moved from their originally planned date.

As for a Donatello tie-in to Infestation 2, if that's true I'm unaware of it. Everything I've read about Infestation 2 doesn't talk about tying in to the individual titles' story arcs themselves but only the Infestation 2 labeled issues. Admittedly, though, I'm not completely sure on this.

Actually that first bit of Donatello there remind me a bit of those Turtle slash fiction pictures that annoyingly pop up in various Google image searches. Where Don looks very femme.

No connection to Infestation. That's about as stand alone as they come.

2/29 is target date for Don, which we're looking good on so far, barring Diamond problems.

Thanks Bobby...I was just about to do a bit of research on that. Appreciate the info.

Valerio's definitely got style... it's more the pose and expression on the first picture that has me going, "Oh, it's Turtlecest Don" than anything else. The full body shot looks pretty striking, though, like Chris Allan with an edge.

That drawing of Mike and Don is a bit too creepy for me.

I sure do love the covers to this issue, as an artist who goes gaga for good lighting I can say these are beauties.

I really like the alternate cover.
