Out of all the TMNT fighting games which one was the best?

Without question the SNES version of Tournament Fighters.

The SNES TF is too choppy and cheap for my taste. CPU AI will block your attacks all day without taking any damage. I know the Genesis version gets a bad rap (for good reason), but I actually like the gameplay a bit more. Still... gotta give SNES the big edge for character selection and overall presentation.

Psht, I have to use your own sentiments but on behalf of the Genesis version! I can't even get one hit in on that SOB.
On the SNES version however I can beat Karai on hard...

Well, I'll admit that the Genesis Harder modes have that nasty habit of unbalanced life bars that lets the CPU kill you in about four hits. However, I do like it better for 2-player mode. Also... "Ultra Depression Attacks"... gotta love 'em!

Ha! I knew it was comin'! I can honestly say that I own all of these games and have gotten enjoyment out of each one over the years. That said, much of that enjoyment may be the fact that I'm just a hard-core turtle fan with a high level of tolerance for sub-par to mediocre games.

The SNES Tournament Fighters was basically Street Fighter with TMNT characters. It rocked.

I also love the NES version. There is just something fun about that simple slow-paced 8-bit fighting. Quite good for an NES game. Plus you can play as Hothead aka The Warrior Dragon!

Smash-Up for the Wii especially is a bit overlooked, using more realistic Wii controls and is just as good as SNES Tournament fighters, and is basically Super Smash Bros. with TMNT characters, including Karai which is much more fitting than Aska (that was the tiebreaker between that game and SNES Tournament fighters in which I voted). Plus, it was co-written by PL, Jim Lawson designing some of the graphics, and features actual 4kids voices. It clearly ends the 4kids era of TMNT games on a strong note.

Smash Up is one of my favorite TMNT games. It had great characters, great backgrounds and great music. The only downside, like others said is the small roster. Seriously Ubisoft? Raving Rabbids? Where are the important characters like Leatherhead, Bebop & Rocksteady, The triceratons, and Stockman? :tgrumble:

Lol, I was just about to ask who the 3 goons were who voted for that game. Only way a sane person could vote for Smash-Up would be if they never played Tournament Fighters... which is bored-line insane itself, but whatever.

Uh...I did play Tournament Fighters. I just didn't like the Street Fighter inspired combat. TF and S-U are two different styles of fighters! Can't we all have different opinions? You don't see me making fun of people because I like a game better than the other. :twink:

I am one of those goons who gave Smash-Up the nod. Smash Up is a ho-hum game in regards to innovation and depth, but it is still fun (to me, at least) and beats the pants off any of the ol' Konami bit-games!

As a rip-off of another genre, Smash-Up captures more of the fun of Smash Bros. than Tournament Fighters did of Street Fighter II.

Um not playable in the maingame.

I always thought of VS mode as the main game. So, you gotta use a code to get to her. No big deal...

VS mode is only 2player and I am forever alone so it doesn't count in my book.
