Leonardo was in the anime "Akira".

Who else thought of that when they first saw the 1988 cult Sci-fi animated classic "Akira"? I did when i was in junior high when i rented the film and thought "Oh my god, that's Leonardo" when i heard Keneda spoke.

If you're talking about the voice actor, then yes, Cam Clarke has done a lot of popular stuff: Cam Clarke IMDB

It's one of the reasons the original English dub is preferred by old school fanboys. Personally, I love both English dubs, but that's partially because Akira is my favorite movie.

I love Cam Clarke's delivery of Kaneda's lines.

"Just when my coil's reachin' the green line!"

That's a memorable line and i own Akira on laserdisc which was one of the first laserdiscs i've ever bought when i was 14 and the VHS and the 2-Disc DVD with now on Blu-Ray as it's one of my fave movies ever.

He was also in Warriors of the Wind (the 1985 New World butchery of Nausicaa).

More like Max Sterling is Leonardo ;)

Cam Clarke is what i refer to.

One of these days, I got to see Akira. Of his '80's dub work, I mainly remember him from the second Gatchaman dub, "G-Force, Guardians of Space." Hearing Leonardo from Joe's mouth amused me to no end.

Fun fact, but Clarke's "G-Force" cast member, Jan Rabson, later showed up on the OT as Kerma (or is it spelled Kirma?) and Scumbug. I'm also 99% sure he voiced Chrome Dome, based on Rabson's voicing of the Sousai X character -- a similar, deeper voice. Rabson also voiced a "G-Force" character with his Scumbug voice, so that obviously tipped me off.

I'm such a sucker for cast reunions or mini-reunions.

My friend showed me Akira for the first time the other day and I thought, "Wait...I know that voice..." I had a thought and went to IMDB and sure enough I was right, I said to my friend, "Yeah, that's Leonardo!" He was surprised at that, but very impressed that I recognized so quickly, hehe. :D

I still can't watch this song without laughing a little to myself because it really sounds like Leonardo singing and even kind of sounds like something original toon Leo might have sang :tlol:

Good old Cam Clarke! :tgrin:
