Ross Campbell style Leonardo action figure
 

It's time to go back!

well Leo is the final of the four brothers. i had originally intended to do Ross Campbell's old school Mirage rendition. both because i love that particular rendition and his bandanna is red so it would fit in perfectly with the other three Mirage turtles i did. but with Ross' new Leo issue coming out recently, i thought it only fitting to go with the new version. it kinda is an old meets new combination. Ross has ties to the Mirage turtles and now he has ties to the new IDW turtles. both versions are awesome, and i love how Leo turned out. when i painted Leo, i went with the actual colors that Ross uses vice how the comic was colored since it was someone else who colored it. its not perfect but i feel its a pretty close representation of the character. please let me know what you think :)

It's a complete custom my friend. I started with a 2007 movie turtle, stripped it down and resculpted about 85% of it. I'll post a wip pic soon.

I like it. Only gripe is the blue bandana kinda removes it from the other 3 stylistically.

Incredible. You work magic with those 07 movie turtles. I wouldn't have guessed a Ross Campbell version would be the next you made, but I'm amazed... it's very close to being my favorite custom TMNT figure... your Eric Talbot Raph is currently number 1.
Now that you've made the 4 bros, are you stopping? BECAUSE YOU SHOULDN'T. What plans do you have for your next custom?

Jester- I feel ya. I had the same feeling. It was like an inner struggle. Should I paint the mask red or blue. In the end it only made sence to go blue. the Campbell rendition I did came from his Leo issue, so having the shell, body, wraps, mask tails, etc resemble that look but not the mask color just wouldn’t make any sence. I’ll get my mirage leo :)

Lordmylar-thanks man! Yeah I like those movie turtles for base fodder. It does take a lot of work to strip them down to where they are usable, but I like the size and articulation of them. I love all the turtles I’ve made this one is myh fav so far. I have always LOVED Campbell’s rendition of the turtles. It has always felt natural…like it just BELONGS. Plus Leo and Donnie are my two fav turtles, but if I had to choose one, it’d be Leo. To answer your question…hell no I’m not stopping! I’m having way too much fun. I’m going to ride these renditions till they or I get burned out. oh I have plans for the next one…but I’m not telling :p
