No need to worry. You posted on the right section of the board. Unfortunately I've never gotten to eat the Crunchabungas, so I can't help you there.

They were puffed corn, so I would image they would be close to Pops cereal process wise, but pizza flavored instead of sugared.

yep. All that crap is going to probably have very very similar ingredients aside from whatever the flavoring is.

Not to allow Mr. Turtle to derail the thread, I would think just about any of those would be close enough for the purpose of making a home made version. Although I honestly don't know what the process of "puffing" corn is. Is it even practical to do outside of a factory environment?

Yeah, that's why I'm trying to hunt down bland equivalents that can be doctored up with pizza flavoring (how hard would THAT be to find/make?), because I'm not sure how one would make a homemade puffed corn snack.

EDIT: Found a site that had recipes for puffed corn...but all were for caramel corn. Not like to couldn't puff it and not caramelize it...but still.

Further EDIT: looks like these call for Puffs as an ingredient. :(
