The giant tentacled monster that grabbed the Technodrome

I just realized something. If Krang fired the Technodrome's laser cannons, the tentacled monster probably would have let go.

I like to think this happened off-screen and the monster spat it out, which would explain why The Technodrome isnt in a pit when we see it next in "Divide and Conquer". The impact of hitting the surface probably did more to damage it.

Actually I'm wrong. This picture shows it. There was no chance of escape.

Actually, they could have drilled their way down into the ground before the monster grabbed them. They'd be stuck in the ground but at least the Technodrome wouldn't be damaged.

That's a lot of tentacles.

Long Road

There is a fanfic named the Long Road on Fan Fiction Net, where Krang, Shredder, Bebop and Rocksteady make their way out by the emergency escape pods. Interesting story.

It was stated in Season 10 that the turtles were the ones who destroyed the Technodrome, not the giant plant.

the_minimizer 07-23-2012 08:40 PM

I think it's unfair that they destroyed the Technodrome and left Shredder and Krang in Dimension-X. Shredder and Krang were doomed to fail anyway. They never stood a chance even on their best days. And The series wouldn't have been possible without the technology of Dimension-X. The Technodrome made the show unique. So did Krang.

If the Technodrome were left in Dimension-X fully entact with broken engines, that would have been fine. The portal would still function. With everything it's been through, it was ridiculous to destroy something that was seemingly indestructible. The tentacled monster was salt in an open wound.

The writers were so one-sided about it. Shredder and Krang were trapped in Dimension-X yet the turtles could still use the portal room.

The Turtles were responsible for the destruction of the Technodrome's engines and leaving them as sitting ducks for the creature, so I think the claim they destroyed the machine holds water. It's like someone shooting someone in the spine and leaving them helpless as a tram ir a combine harvester runs under them while there unable to get up and run. If you're caught, you're still charged with a degree of murder.

I was thinking more along he lines of a Sarlaac.

Season 10 should have been longer only to see the Technodrome rebuilt.
The tentacled monster was a wrong move, and was that monster stronger than the impact that the technodrome sustained in "The Fifth turtle", "The Big Blow out", "My brother the bad guy", "Super Irma" or "Attack of the Neutrinos" ?

There are other planets too. I can't recall it actually being said about Dregg originating from a Dimension X planet, just some other planet than the Earth, but no name. Could have been in the Milky Way Galaxy, Andromeda Galaxy, M 87 or whatever.

There was one episode where the Technodrome sustained catastrophic damage. It was the one where the naval ships got pulled into it. The picture used to be online but I can't find it.

There was nothing anyone could do. That monster was dead-set on mating with the Technodrome, and mate it did.
