TMNT Comic Images

I don't recall wether there has been an comic image thread before (I think there was, but I couldn't find it)

Either way -- why not have an image thread for TMNT Comics? 4kids, Nick, and the 80s cartoon all have threads, and there's a bunch of awesome images all over the net. (I've collected some images over the years, so I thought I'd share the comic-ones I have. If any of them came from this board, though, I simply can't remember which ones they would be.)

And so it doesn't get lost - can this thread be made sticky, so people can see whats been added, and possibly contribute themselves. (It's just a suggestion. Just I've enjoyed the image threads in the other sections a lot, and would like to see the same for the original Comics.)

I've been collecting these images for many years - so I don't always know where they came from, or which artist did them. I'll try and credit the creators I recognize.

Whenever possible, list the artist name, and what website it came from. Also maybe what issue it came from. If you don't have all the information, at first, then try your best; if you're unsure of any of these, you can post the image and ask - and edit the post after getting an answer.

Also, please don't post several pages of story; we don't want to give the mis-impression that this thread is posting material for pirated use. Just use common sense.

The most recent images, which I've scoured of late, I can at direct you to for some of the images.

One thing that would probably really help this thread is to also list the artist for the art that you post. Helps spread the name and teaches something at the same time.

Don't always know the names.

Probably one of the most prolific and controversial artists in TMNT history, but man, I dig it too. Those images remind me of how much I love the first few issues of Volume 4, with Jim penciling and Laird on inks (and tones!). I think they're in solid running for some of the best-looking Mirage issues.

Don't always know the names.
How are you finding the art, then? They should always be credited in the issue or whatever blog or site you're pulling it from.

Also, methinks this thread should be frugal with posting more than one full page from any scene, since, while there's theoretically no harm being done, you are posting the content you're expected to pay for (unlike movie or TV screencaps).

Roseangelo 07-31-2012 10:33 PM

I like the idea behind this thread, I think we just have to make sure we're not posting fan art here. I don't recognize the below as being from any comic.

I don't even care if I am 100% correct. At least I tried.

Pretty close. Only ones I would correct are that none of those images are Charles Wilson. I'm sure you had the Splinter micro in mind, but all of those IDW Splinter images are from the ongoing, so it's actually Dan Duncan's (fabulous) Splinter. The exception is the last one, which is concept art by Andy Kuhn. First and third Karai image is Dan Duncan as well, while the second is also Andy Kuhn.

Also, if anyone can find a high quality scan of the 2 page splash T.C.R.I. building in #4, I would love it! :D Makes a great wallpaper!

It's a pin up from a Tales issue. The work of Fernando Pinto, who did that, a 5 page back up story, a cover, the interior to the TMNT Raphael prequel issue, & a bunch of other stuff.

Ya know I thought it was Duncan's I was just too lazy to get out the issue to confirm...

Awesome. Thanks for confirming that. :)

He has a point, even if the steak isn't real.

Like Powder said, this isn't anything against you, and I'm not participating in some brigade. I just think it would be helpful to everyone on this forum if you label the artist and also link to where you got the image. If you don't know where you got it, no big deal, maybe someone can point you to the original, further enlightening your TMNT education. My suggestion to your thread and quotation of cipher's comment can be interpreted however you want it. If you're still forlorn about it take the red pill and escape this matrix. Because I know what you're thinking, 'cause right now I'm thinking the same thing. Actually, I've been thinking it ever since I got here: Why oh why didn't I take the BLUE pill?

Everything is ok now, I was just over reacting. I was just really depressed yesterday. I'm sorry.

Besides that, might I suggest this thread be started over (one with a sticky) - listing all the parameters and rules. I just didn't expect all this involvement - but if I got the idea rolling, I'm fine if another thread takes over.

I know, I try and not gather up fan art (besides commissions by pro creators) I don't remember what issue it was - but I clearly remember that drawing comes from one of the Tales of TMNT, one of their intro-pieces, or pin-up. I think. Don't know what issue.

Powder knew it was from an issue of Tales, just not sure which one either. As far as starting a new thread, just PM a mod and ask them to help clean up this thread and then just toss in the "rules" into your first post. This could easily become my favorite thread. I will have to dig up some of my favorites and add them as well.

So, I tried my best to credit the creatros, websites, and what I knew things came from. Is that good? If you have any corrections, then let me know.

Let's have Renet turn back time, and get this thread started off right.
