I love both of those but the foot ski (footski?) jacket on Roland gets my vote!

I always love colored subs.

cartoonistaaron gets my vote, as the shading/detail on his is much better than Roland's, even though his has better teeth and spiky detail around his face. That blue/green checkerboard on Roland's leg looks quite out of place and a bit sloppy.

I like them both for different reasons.

CartoonArtist has the shading and detail, but to me looks more like a dog.

Roland has a some great wolf face, but maybe a little too much colour for my taste.

My vote went to Roland.

I love the colours in Roland's drawing, it reminds me of Adventure Time.

Boy, the participation for these contests really has waned in the past year or so!

That said, I think CA drew one of the best Rahzar's I've ever seen. Neither one of the submissions seems to be an especially creative reinterpretation of the character, however. I commend the effort of both artists.

CA's Razhar looks like it was inspire by Disney's Beast of Beauty And The Beast.

There isn't. It was in case he checked the thread. I was amazed by his Tokka which seemed to be half a picture. It would be cool to see his picture completed with the Razhar half. :tgrin:

I really would like to know why, but I can´t go to send a PM to everyone each contest, I never did that and I will not start now.

I think some people just have much work to do and don´t have time for this.

Yeah, that's me, man! I've gotten myself involved in so many art projects (most of them personal challenges or favors for other folks) that I just don't have the time or energy to think up new takes on TMNT characters.

I'm pretty busy, too, and I don't have time to do a finished piece - but I'm constantly drawing, and I always have a few minutes to do a sketch. I'm thinking of drawing a different TMNT character every day just to give me a break from the other stuff I'm working on, but I don't want to steal your thunder with the redesign threads.

I just didn't see it. Not sure how I didn't. I mean I'm far from a decent artist but I like taking part and having fun.

Most of the time I have for drawing these days goes into commission work, so when I do find the time to do things of my own accord, I let my own ideas take the priority spot. Gotta get that creativity out of the system. Aside from that, there have been several of these that left me uninspired, either by lack of ideas or little interest in the chosen character. I'm sure I'll do another one of these in due time, though. They've been fun in the past.

& truth be told, for one period of time I felt kinda discouraged. Users who never even frequented this portion of the board would drop by just to vote, and it was quite clear they voted for artistic skill as opposed to the originality of the re-designed characters. If you put your all into a design that is overlooked by someone with a simplistic entry drawn in greater detail, there's no point, you know?

As for this poll, I didn't vote. Rolands design is too random and deviates from any design of Rahzar for it to appeal to me, and Aarons doesn't deviate at all, short of it looking sort of Disney-like (which while cool in its own right, is moreso a creative liberty than a design alteration).

I'm on the fence like Powder. Can't see much of an redesign on Rahzar in Cartoonistaaron's piece, it's good yes but its just an style change. And Roland don't scream Rahzar to me either, more that Artic Wolf dude from the NES Arcade game

I like them both a lot but my favorite is cartoonistaarian. Great job guys!
