Multiplayer online game

Breaking a little away from all the threads on the new game coming out.

I was wondering if anyone knows any way to play the original arcade game over the internet, multiplayer? Or at least on a small network?

Karpo_007 05-23-2003 05:03 PM

Yes, it is possible with kaillera. We have don it few times, but if people live far away from each other it will lag. Get mame with build in kaillera client from www.kaillera.com. It's very simple, join a server and then create a game where others on same server can join. If you want to host your own server you need the kaillera server software to.

I played it on lan with 3 Friends, and trust me, TMNT game does not get better than that.

I've done that with Street FIghter a few times, but Haven't tried TMNT yet.. when I get my DSL Turned back on I have to try it!

Yeo I was one of the guys who played it with Karpo_007
And it was really fun!!

Indeed I kive in Holland, and there was some lag..infact quite some :D

But it was do-able and a Good play!!

Karpo_007 05-24-2003 06:36 AM

Thats why it's best payed on LAN.

Excellen, thanks Karpo!

Too bad I live too far away from you Karpo. :( That would be interesting if they can make a multiplayer patch or something for this upcoming game.

Karpo_007 05-24-2003 11:58 AM

IIt's a 2 player game, probably no network support.

Tokka-B 05-24-2003 04:39 PM

Yea but doesn't it also have a fighting game feature to it?

Karpo_007 05-24-2003 04:40 PM

Yeah the tournament mode but I still doubt it.

Nope, no network support.

I'd be up for a go with anyone. If I can figure out how to use the program. I've never used it before.
BTW where can I find the actual rom? I don't know if we're allowed talking about this stuff on here so if someone could PM me with the answer I'd appreciate it.

ZSNES allows online play, me and TMNT571 have played a couple through ZSNES, and Kaillara. You need to have the other person's IP and the other person needs your IP to connect on ZSNES.

Karpo_007 05-26-2003 05:23 PM

2 players is nothing compare to 4, Best choice is kaillera on LAN, but if every player lives in same country and has fast connection it shouldn't lag much in online play.

Anyone a pro at this? I've never used it before and I don't know how to get a game going with more than myself. Any help would be appreciated.

Karpo_007 05-26-2003 06:11 PM

Just get mame32 with build in kaillera from www.kaillera.com and follow the documents.

JameO 05-26-2003 06:16 PM

What documents? I am also trying to figure out this multiplayer thing.

Karpo_007 05-27-2003 01:37 AM

I sent you a PM about this.

JameO 05-29-2003 07:16 PM

Yeah I finally got on and played the tmnt game! Thanks for all the help Karpo. And thanks for telling us about it!

Karpo_007 05-30-2003 08:21 AM

No problem, when you have good frends playing it with you, a TMNT game experience can't get any better.
