fraud check - Baxter Stockman mustard tshirt
I recently bought a Baxter Stockman from a well known ebay seller...When it arrived I noticed the top of the bubble was detached from the card, a large enough space to slip out the figure (maybe do a custom paint job)
It could have been damaged in transit, but the thing is, the other figures were in flawless condition with no damage Is this an actual variation? has anyone heard of a mustard vest baxter stockman before? http://s7.postimage.org/am65lrejv/Screen_Shot002.jpg |
That just looks like bad sun damage. I'm willing to bet the chest yellowed but the arms didn't seeing as they're different plastics
|
It might not even necessarily be sun damage as the card and bubble look to have decent color. Sometimes certain plastics just yellow naturally due to moisture/humidity and how they're stored over the years. I have an Arthur figure from Bandai's The Tick line that never saw the light of day, having been stored in my garage for 15+ years, and it has the same discoloration.
|
The front of the package is faded and the bubble is starting to yellow. That vest is definitely discolored. The white on the arms is white paint while the vest is white plastic. That's why the white arms haven't discolored.

If you're dumb enough to fall for Footballorangeguys tricks, you got what you deserved.
|
I've seen baxter stockmans with varying color like that, but never that different.
|
People try to pass figures with sun damage off as variations all the time on ebay. I've seen Storm troopers, Baxters Stockman, and many other figures with yellowing that the people say, "Yellow Variation Ultra Rare". The truth is, you just got ripped off.
|
Man, I'll have to agree with the others. I hope you didn't spend more than ten bucks on that figure.
That seller uses flashy words to make a sale...and it worked. Try putting that figure on Ebay with "sun damaged" in the title and see how many people are willing to buy it. Its totally has that old school NES yellow syndrome. |

No. Only the heads were ever rubber....well save the Movie Star figures.

I have seen alot of his items and its funny how one person has 30 rare varients... Just a tad weird.
I assumed something was up, kinda sucks his a scammer |

Also on his eyes, there are small specks of a different red colour, which again seems like a custom paint job...can anyone confirm the original model has these slightly brighter red specks on the eyes? |

If this was a variant, he should have come complete with hot dog accessory. :D I always hate that when mustard drips on my shirt!
