Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation, Volume 2 Bonus Features

The second volume has the two Power Rangers crossover episodes and then also has the original promotional music video.

Guitar Raph will completely lose it...

Unexpected, but very cool!

EDIT: If true, of course! :-P
I've been disappointed by promised bonus features from Shout Factory that didn't quite make it onto the actual discs.

CyberCubed 11-26-2012 06:34 PM

The Power Ranger eps will probably be there as Shout releases that series to DVD as well so I'm not worried.

Gyt Kaliba 11-26-2012 06:44 PM

Oh wow, wasn't expecting any kind of bonus features, and this is the first I've heard of a promotional music video...not that I'm uh, expecting a lot from it.

I still need to pick up the first set for this, but I'm resisting because I also still need the old toon, and I'd rather THAT be my first TMNT buy, over...well, this. :P

LeoNerdo 11-26-2012 08:34 PM

Awesome!! Even if I'm not a PR fan I was hopeful those episodes would be on there to make it feel more complete.

Great job Saban/Shout for providing a nice compilation; I'll be purchasing this when I find a good deal (along with Zordon-era Power Rangers).

You got that right! Just like Curly!

Exciting stuff! I very much so look forward to its release.

cammy85 11-26-2012 11:36 PM

Two?? They were in Shell-Shocked, but also in the last minute of "Save Our Ship, before that. Why add the whole episode just for that small bit?

CyberCubed 11-26-2012 11:45 PM

If I'm remembering correctly didn't the Turtles have different voices in the crossover episodes from the regular show? I don't understand why that happened.

Yes. I'm pretty sure it was a union thing, such as what prevented the original toon voices from coming back for Turtles Forever.

Kind of weird they include both episodes when they only appear less than a minute in the previous episode, why not just include that 1 minute before. Glad that the crossover is there though.

IIRC TNM was already cancelled by the time PRiS aired but they still had the license and decided to use them.

Fun thing is TNM and PRiS were filmed in different locations, this is also why none of the cast of TNM had anything to do with it which leads to continuity issues like the personality of the turtles and not to mention the fighting scenes are much different, IMO they are much better in this crossover than in the actual hsow.

It helps that the Turtles actually USE their weapons in the crossover.

CyberCubed 11-27-2012 11:44 AM

At least Shout Factory does a competent job with releases and makes sure to put out all bonus material. I didn't expect the Power Ranger crossover to be included but here it is.

Man we really needs these guys to release the 4kids series on DVD, they would do a fantastic job.

ToTheNines 11-27-2012 01:43 PM

Very excite!

Mainly because I can get rid of the embarrassing bootleg PRiS DVD on my Turtles shelf.

CyberCubed 11-28-2012 10:51 PM

I wonder where they'll place the Power Rangers ep on the set. After episode 26?

The last episode was a clip show if I remember correctly.

Dont you think it would make that pisode harder to follow if they did that?

ZariusTwo 11-30-2012 06:54 AM

I sort of see his point, Astronema's decision to kidnap the Turtles is very last minute and doesnt play a big part in the overall story of "Save Our Ship" it's just tacked on as a cliffhanger tease for the next episode. With some creative editing, they could even incorporate it into the pre-credits. That said, it's probably better to leave both episodes untouched.

Aren't the two PRIS episodes supposed to just be special features? Besides, despite the crossover, I think the Ninja Turtles exist in that form in the PR series in an alternate universe anyway.
