tape that doesnt damage MOC figures

I wasnt sure which section this should go in, so if this is the wrong place, i apologize...

I am wondering if any of you can tell me a name brand/technical name for the tape that comic shops use to price MOC/Boxed items that doesnt damage the cardboard. I always see it but never think to ask when I am at the store. It looks like regular scotch tape, but it definitely isnt... any help would be appreciated as I have a comic convention to sell at this weekend and need the best way to make my deals known. ::tgrin:

I don't know what this tape is, but for price tags at cons I usually just use post it notes

Not sure what they use, but if I was ever pricing things I would probably use blue painters tape. I can't see that ruining anything.

This is what I would have suggested. Post-its are definitely your safest bet.

Agree. Shops that use standard price tags don't have MOC in mind. Most price tags are easily removed if they haven't been on too long, but the longer the glue has to settle the harder it will be to get off.

the post-its always seem to fall off throughout the weekend from people handling the merchandise- regular tags on strings are fine til it gets to moc and then i am stumped.

It's called write on tape. We have it at my work and get it from office depot. I'm sure it's available in other brands as well. It has a matte finish to it as opposed to the gloss of normal scotch tape.

Another method you can use is to place any tape which you choose to use on your clothing a couple of times. The small amounts of lint that get on the tape reduce the stickiness enough that it will not damage the surface to which is applied upon removal.

Good luck at your convention

You could also attach a string around the top of the package that holds it on pegs and place a small piece of paper on it (provided it isn't a vintage unpunched figure). If you use Post-its, place the sticker on the plastic portion and not the paper area!
