how to tell soft or heard heads moc

How can you tell if they are hard or soft head in an unopened package?

-on hard heads, you can sometimes see the seam along the side of their heads.

-the soft heads have a more rubber look to them with less specularity.

-on the hard heads, the neck connects to the torso in a cleaner way.

-soft heads usually have a fan club flyer inside the package.

-it's easier to tell on the Turtles. I have a hard time telling whether my bebop is hard or soft head.

On the back of the cards I seen some that say join the club. See details inside but no fan flyer inside. Are those soft heads?

I have graded 5 of these, all plastic head. That's not to say you will never find a rubber head with out a fan club flyer though.

I saw this one on ebay and it looked like a soft head.

That one is a hard call. It looks like a soft head, but the way it is reflecting light, I would have to say it isn't. There is a lot of variation among the hard heads, some are very shiny and some are a bit duller.

I agree. Plus is has the larger hang opening. I have never owned something that was graded soft head, and also had a large hang opening. All soft heads that i have owned all had small hang opening. This isn't to say you will never find a soft head on a larger hang opening though.

What made me think soft head was the neckline. Does not seem to fit cleanly like most hard heads.

That's a soft head, no doubt about it. The color and seam make it quite obvious.

I agree Powder. I am pretty confident its a soft head.

I have a question about the soft/rubber heads.
I know that the 4 turtles, splinter, shredder, Bebop, and Rock-steady all had soft heads on their original series 1 release.

Did April and foot soldier have soft heads too? Or just plastic heads on their first release?

I know the original April figure had red hair and no vertical blue stripe on her first release.
