2012 Leonardo Error *maybe*

Hey guys,

I'm new to this forum (and forums in general for that matter) but I had a question. (AND DON'T SCOLD ME IF THIS HAS ALREADY BEEN DISCUSSED PLEASE) Upon the initial release of the Nickelodeon's TMNT figures, did anyone notice that Leonardo's promotional pics looked different than the rest of the turtles. It just seemed to me that his belt, knee/elbow pads were grey/silver compared to the rest of his bros. Which I though was a kind of neat idea to establish a leader. However he ended up having the same color brown like the rest. I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to get my hands on that and was wondering if there was any information on it. Any helpful replies would be greatly appreciated

Yeah, all the prototypes have slightly different colors. They don't sell those. Also, welcome to the forum!

Where did you see silver? This was the main promotional image used:

Uh, that's not the promo pic. That's a custom homie. Check the Playmates website.

THIS ONE!

Powder 12-20-2012 12:28 AM

Uh, yes it is, 'homie'. Maybe it's not the one you're talking about, but these were the first promo pictures released.

EDIT (since you've posted again): That's not grey. It's a slightly different shade of brown. Obviously they changed it a little before they went into production.

OrokuYoshiFilms 12-20-2012 12:37 AM

Nah, man it's totally grey. (It's almost the same as the weapons) ....and I've seen that custom on Mint Condition Customs. ...and even if it is 'a different shade of brown', that's my whole point: It's different than the rest.....AND I WANT IT!!! I just want to finally have something that I won't rip out of the box as soon as I get home with it. I would actually keep this one MOC.

Powder is right. It's a shade of brown not grey at all.

....and I see it's customary around here to apologize for heavy pics, so......sorry. I plan on deleting it as soon as I get a reply.

It's not a custom, it's one of the very first press photos ever released. Check your facts before you argue. http://www.comicsalliance.com/2012/0...laymates-2012/ & You'll never get it, it wasn't released. & that picture was obviously color 'corrected', it's over saturated and everything has a pink tint to it.

OrokuYoshiFilms 12-20-2012 01:24 AM

Blah, blah, blah

*sigh* here we go....I don't need to check my facts sir/ma'am/whoever you are. The whole point of me joining this forum is because I DON'T have all the facts. If I had them all, I wouldn't be here. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong. I'm adult enough to know how to admit that. I can argue all I want until you prove me wrong, but if YOU choose to engage in that argument with me, then you're subject to whatever consequences come about. Leave your self-entitlment issues at Login. That is all. Anyway, thanks (I guess) for clearing that up for me...

I thought they did hand them out at comic con? and I see them on ebay from time to time. When I see those It makes me glad I have not got an of the Nick figs yet. I hope they release classic style Nick TMNTS with all details. I can not get passed the un painted swords, sai etc.

Powder 12-20-2012 02:34 AM

The figures given out at the Toy Fair & whatnot are virtually the same as the store models, except that their weapons are fully painted, as are their belt buckles. They're not drybrushed or paintwashed or whatever it is they call that black speckling look.

If yo look closely on the prototype pictures, the prototypes have double jointed knees and a heavier paint job then the Toy Fair release. You can check Pixel Dan's reviews on Youtube for a comparison (between toy fair and released).

"Wow, just wow. do you always get passive aggressive and defensive when someone corrects you?" *in a mocking voice*

tee hee hee......

....and a "BLAH, BLAH, BLAH" to you as well!
Just keep 'em comin', Candy Kappa. You want some of this too then I'LL TAKE YOU ALL ON!!!! *that was so Raphael right?* LOL. *ahem* No, seriously, if you think that's passive aggressive then you need to grow a pair....or do some push-ups or somethin' I dunno. Bottom line is, if you wanna correct me, do it with taste. Don't tell me about what facts I know. I said if I'm, wrong I'm wrong. For ****s sake we're talking about TOYS here. Take a minute and step back from your "I'm-important-on-an-internet-forum" state of mind. If you've really got a problem with what I have to say then by all means, find another thread to annoy someone on.

Jester 12-20-2012 07:24 AM

So....you only have a dozen posts and you're already in a sparing match with long-timers just answering your question...the very point of the thread.

Great way to make friends, bud.
