Is April human?

I know this sounds like a crazy conspiracy thread, but hear me out.

1. Her father is a scientist (first time in TMNT history), and his name in this show is Kirby (also a first in TMNT history).

2. Kirby's crystal is what created her in the Mirage books.

3. She apparently has no mother.

4. The creative team kept hinting about April being special in this series. While I guess they could have been referring to the whole "sensitive to universal vibrations" thing, it seemed like something bigger.

5. I could see this as their excuse to get around the Donatello romance thing.

I'm not saying I want this to be true, but I'm pretty suspicious. I've never heard Ciro say anything about being a fan of the Volume 4 books, but that doesn't mean he's not familiar with that "April is a drawing" storyline.

Are you suggesting she could be something along the same lines as the annoying wee girl from the Transformers: Animated cartoon?
That would be an interesting direction for them to take. Unlikely, but interesting :)

Cheers,
Doug

I see what you mean there but I really, really, really hope this is not the case.

gobo 01-07-2013 08:10 AM

I'd be surprised. You might be onto something there, but I'd still be surprised.

Shark_Blade 01-07-2013 08:22 AM

This puts a whole new level of understanding how "Donatello does machine".

:tthumbsu: :tthumbsu:

I like this...

However, I do not like the thought that April might be something more or less than Human in the Nick Series. I've always felt it was the fact that she was the normal human that made her place in the Turtles family so special

Bauer536 01-07-2013 08:50 AM

See. These are the things that ruin the experience of enjoying the show.:tgrumble: Why do we always have to speculate like this? Now I know why Ciro left this forum. It just gets annoying.:trolleye:

Also, Shark_Blade - That is very funny. I like your joke.:tlol:

ToTheNines 01-07-2013 08:55 AM

How about you leave then?

I'm not. I've got friends on here that I like to talk to.

Plus, I understand why the speculation, but it's just becoming ridiculous. Let's just be happy that this show is awesome and not some kind of trainwreck.:tcool:

Do I think about leaving some time? Absolutely. This place is hardly fun anymore.

Drose18 01-07-2013 09:29 AM

If it keeps her from becoming venus im fine with this.

Theli 01-07-2013 09:31 AM

I think it is fun and talking and speculation about topics i swhat keeps a community alive. Would you like better that nobody posts a thread and talk about anything? Dudes, this is a forum!! We are here to discuss things about our fandom !

I think all of these (with the exception of #5... hopefully) are legit arguments for a big twist like that. My only big critique is that the April as Drawing angle was entirely Laird's idea and only appeared in the late Volume 4 comics... arguably one of the most obscure corners in all the TMNT multi-verse.

Not to mention frightening as she could vanish any second.

I don't know about obscure, but definitely niche.

Yeah, that's probably the better term.

Kevin G 01-07-2013 10:23 AM

I apologize for asking such a naive question but what do you mean in the Mirage books, it was Kirby's crystal that created her ? April in the comic book series was never human ?

CyberCubed 01-07-2013 10:24 AM

I doubt the writers of the Nick cartoon ever read the Volume 4 comics. Also they hinted that April will, "grow up to become the strong news reporter woman."

Seems more like they want to be like she was in the OT than anything else.

Kirby could be a lot of things, Eastman might have suggested it to be he fathers name because of the 5th Turtle character he wanted.

Right terrifying... I don't understand why once her parents had died she didn't just vanish... I mean we were told it was their love that kept her from fading, but wouldn't that mean that once they were no longer there to provide that love she would be gone.

Also did Kirby really Love that portal so much that it wouldn't fade away?
