April's stolen mutagen

So what are everyone's predictions for what's going to become of the vile of ooze that April swiped in her Micro (& we saw again in #17)?

I can't see them purposely mutating a creature. Perhaps Donnie and April will try to reverse engineer it and start demutating foes.

Thoughts? Crazy theories?

CyberCubed 01-31-2013 07:11 PM

I can see an accidental mutation happening. Perhaps this is how Leatherhead will be created. He might just be a normal gator in the sewers and this mutagen will accidentally mutate him.

Since the Utroms aren't in the TCRI building in this show, Leatherhead being created by other means seems more likely.

ToTheNines 01-31-2013 08:44 PM

I could see that. I remember Bobby saying we'd be seeing Rat King and LH sooner rather than later. It'd be cool if they took a page from Nickelodeon's book and had Mikey name him.

It also occurred to me that they might lose it in #21 when the church gets attacked by this mystery villain.

CyberCubed 01-31-2013 10:23 PM

Its possible this is where Bebop/Rocksteady return and try to steal the mutagen container and wind up contaminated at a zoo or something.

But I'd say Leatherhead is the most likely scenario, especially if IDW wants him to appear soon.

I'm more curious about that vial of blood labeled "splinter" that old hob had.

Might have been some psychotropic serum... That would certainly give Slash an IQ boost.

This. I believe in this universe mutagen only works on animals, so no Bebop/Rocksteady in this series, unless Stockman or an accident alter it. I don't want it to be "last animal you've touched" like in the OT.

I wouldn't write off Rocksteady and Bebop just yet. They've already appeared in this universe, and Shredder DID say they'd be changed, when the master willed it. So we'll see them at some point. I have a feeling we'll be seeing them within the next two or three issues, actually.

It won't be. They'll have a clever sci-fi explanation for any "human first" mutants.

Pretty likely. We know Karai is gunning for some mutagen, and they've already volunteered.

It was literally confirmed in an article/Curnow interview right after I posted to this thread earlier today.

It didn't confirm B&R did it?

I don't believe it did...unless I'm missing something...

It hasn't been explicitly confirmed, but it was confirmed at the end of the Raphael Micro, and the article/Curnow interview confirms new mutants that will be fighting in Shredder's war, mutants we haven't seen yet in this comic.

I didn't realize there was an IDW show

Be careful when waving the word "literally" around like that...

***First of Two Latin Kings*** 02-15-2013 01:01 PM

Well, they've already showed up in the Raphael Micro. They're still Bebop and Rocksteady even if they're still in human form. And Shredder said, "You will be changed, when the Master wills it." I don't think they were used in that issue just to gauge fan interest; there are a lot of things the IDW staff have done that fans have griped about. They can't make everyone happy. And more people would be happy to see them again than not.

ToTheNines 08-05-2013 06:08 AM

At this point, I'm expecting them to use it to heal Casey. Assuming it's "ooze" and not "mutagen". Perhaps it'll have some strange side effects and create the nutjob Casey Jones we're all so used to.
