Older characters from TMNT lore that you think will fade away into obscurity?

There are a lot of TMNT characters that show up in every incarnation just about, (like Baxter/Rat King/Leatherhead), while others only had a hiatus due to PL not allowing those characters in the 4kids series.

However now that Nick and IDW are free to bring back whoever they want, which characters do you think WON'T be revived in either series? I can think of a few:

1) Pimiko. She only ever appeared in the Image comics and was Shredder's biological daughter. However, since both Nick and IDW have followed the 4kids route of making Karai into Shredder's daughter, it makes it seem like the character of Pimiko will be forgotten about and never revived.

2) Complete Carnage and Radical. Peter confirmed they didn't appear in the 4kids series simply because he never liked them much. If even PL didn't want to use them, I cannot see such obscure characters returning in either IDW or Nick.

3) Many OT characters created in the later seasons, such as Lord Dregg, Beserko, Titanus, Shreeka, Carter, etc. Some of these were good characters, but they came so late into the OT's run that most casual fans never knew them. The lack of toys certainly didn't help.

4) Lotus Blossom. Similar to Pimiko, her character is really redundant with Karai around. If anything she basically was the OT version of her before Karai even existed.

5) Many Playmates mutant characters that never appeared in the OT. I doubt we'll ever see the debut of such characters like Monty Moose or King Lionheart, and we're better off without them.

6) Archie oriented characters that were not major villains or Playmates characters. Examples would probably be Chein Khan (another dog mutant), or Toxeem or possibly even Null.

And this of course goes for all the minor characters in the OT and 4kids series, like the mad scientists, the one-shot aliens, characters like Touch and Go or the Ultimate Ninja...possibly even all the Fast Forward characters.

Can you think of any others that you don't think Nick or IDW will revive?

Venus. Peter Laird even admitted to the mistake of creating a female turtle, and remains the reason why the Next Mutation isn't well liked. However, I wouldn't be surprised if there was a gag about how uncool Venus would be whether in Nick and/or IDW.

The Ninja Tribunal's Acolytes.
They were created specifically for the 4kids series and aired at a time when executive meddling was causing problems, along with the dearth of toys created. The Ancient One and Ninjitsu masters could still show up later in Nick/IDW since there's a lot going for them.

Most of the Fast Forward characters, such as Cody Jones, Viral, and Darius Dun. Like the characters introduced for Red Sky, they came at a waning phase of a series, and even I don't know all the names of them off the top of my head (Torbin Zixx, Aramzedo anyone?) The Dark Turtles are a possible exception.

2k3 fillers
Half-court
Carter
Most stuff you mentioned,
And one more, bloodsucker
There's lots of charecters that will fade :tcry:

I never liked Carnage and Radical either... They always seemed so out of place to me... That said Renet didn't ever seem to belong either.. but I always liked it when she showed up.

Definitly Carter and Dregg. I am curious if we'll ever get to see Keno again.

Does anyone even remember bloodsucker?

shuriken 02-02-2013 07:06 PM

^^ Bloodsucker was awesome. A giant mutant hideous looking leech is pretty damn scary.
The Muto Heads have faded.
The Crooked ninja Turtle gang
Tempestra and Antrax
Garbage man will not be returning I'm sure

When you think about it.

Most TMNT characters wont be used again.

For every Leatherhead, Baxter and Karai you get a bunch more Kenos, Lord Dreggs, Bonesteels, Garbage men, Mary Bones and Kermas.

You know the more I think about it, I kinda prefer it that way. Why does every character in the history of the franchise have to be brought back? If anything, limiting most of them to one or two iterations makes them all the more unique and special. Look at how many different versions of April, Splinter and each Turtle we've had over the past two and a half decades. A couple more generations and people won't be able to keep track anymore.

Agree, do we really need the mutamals to appear in this series? Or any other obscure charecter
Personally I just like it when nick creates original charecters

EDIT FROM 2014- Holy crap! What was I thinking when I made this post?

Well we had Angel, a rather obscure character from the 4kids series brought back in IDW, so I don't know.

Classic OT characters like General Traag and Metalhead have been revived as well, so I can see more showing up.

Except general tragg looks nothing like he did in the OT :tsad:

So, Karai and Rat King looked nothing like they did in past incarnations either. They're still more or less the same characters though.

Yeah but I at least liked those charecters, tragg is going to take more time to get used to.

I think Rahzar and Tokka have a good chance to appear again. They did get cameos in the Turtles Forever movie.

I agree with the others though.
