Idea for Universal Studios themepark attraction!
So back in 1990 we had these guys at Disney World's MGM Studios.
http://www.thegreenlanterncorps.com/jephael/MGM.jpg Around five years ago we had the 4Kids interpretation making appearances in different places! http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lt...y3yjo1_500.jpg Now we've got these dudes! http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-AqZUsOiMtY...se-turtles.jpg I had a major brainstorm earlier: Does anyone here think if they brought all these costumes together, it'd make for an interesting show at Universal Studios or some other theme park? |
No. The shows with guys in costumes are always the lamest things in Universal.
Make one of those 3D sitdown and ride things like the Spider-Man ride and you're on to something. |
Why not create a TMNT theme park with different attraction?
Can just imagine the "sewers", Channel 6 News, Technodrome, Turtle Farm. Rides would include the Turtle Van, Channel 6 News van, Battle Shell, and maybe Transport modules just to mention some. |

Universal has a Nicktoons section so I wouldn't be surprised if they add a TMNT segment.

Kids couldn't care less about previous incarnations. They wanna see what they see on TV now. |

I, for one, LOVED the TMNT & MGM Studios attraction back in the early 90s! I even got all the Turtles to sign my silly looking head visor.

Are those 3D rides even that good? Ive never been on one. Ive seen youtube video and it really just seems like watching a movie at the theater. Full blown rides would be much better imo. |
Dude, I saw those dudes at MGM! One of them signed something... I dunno. I don't even remember it. I was 3. I have pictures somewhere, though.

They do have those walk-around characters over at the Nickelodeon Suites hotel a few miles away from Universal Orlando.
I don't think you'll see them in the parks though - Universal only has Dora and Spongebob licensed from Viacom. That's not to say they couldn't strike up a new deal, but under current contracts it won't be happening. |

I can totally see a rooftop run/sewer surfing adventure in 3D. :tgrin: |
Well ever since Nickelodeon closed its doors in 2005 and replaced it with the Blue Man Group, don't count on it, though I'd love to see an attraction that's a dark ride/thrill ride combo that tells a story, with the fast portion representing the battle with the Foot/Shredder, similar to the one ride in Universal that goes through buildings (such as the old Ghostbusters building).
There's a New York section of the themepark, so that's where the attraction will be located. However, with the nearby lake and if there is room underground, make it a journey through the sewers attraction. Start by having the line walk through the Turtles' Lair with lots of cool Turtle memorabilia and original material to keep fans happy while waiting. Then, guests will board the Shellraiser as April reports that the city is under attack by the Foot. The ride begins as the Turtles dodge Mousers. Soon, a log flume drop causes Fishface, the Rat King, and Leatherhead to attack. Suddenly, the ride speeds up as the Turtles emerge from a storm drain and head above ground (the back of the New York section). Here, we see April getting kidnapped by the Shredder and the Turtles come on to tell that they must save her. We pass Bebop & Rocksteady, the Channel 6 building (use the back of one of the buildings), and the Foot. This leads to the Shellraiser entering a subway entrance and heading underground again. A few moments later, the Turtles find the Technodrome as the ride speeds up and there are some scary trap doors, closing walls, and robots attacking at all sides. A little later, we enter the control room, where the battle with Krang and Shredder awaits. Filled with the Technodrome's dramatic music, the ride suddenly becomes a mini-roller coaster with loops, corkscrews, and sudden turns similar to Space Mountain. On the final drop, we hear a big sound and force the portal to open and force Shredder/Krang back into Dimension X, and hear a big "NOOOOOOOOOOO! We're stuck". We then discover that April has been rescued and the Turtles return to their lair and Splinter gives them a big congratulations about stopping Shredder's plans. It's a nice ride with lots of OT elements mixed with a few Nick characters/vehicles to appeal to a broad audience, and I think this could be a hit that lasts for many years. |

Despicable Me also has a new ride. Haven't seen that yet but I heard it's alright. |
I think you guys are missing my original point. I want them to figure out a way to bring back those old costumes from the Disney vault (if they're even still there).
|
Well. Like I said. That's a lame idea. Those old suits are awful and nobody likes theme park stage shows.
|
No. Why would Nick bring back older incarnations with the newer incarnations for a costumed show meant for kids? IF anything, they'll make a show with the new costumes, but I highly doubt it.
