Turtle/human hybrid
So I picked up the DVD yesterday and on the inside case there is a bio for Leo. His species is called turtle/human hybrid. Has that term ever been used before?

They are half-turtle half-human creatures after-all. |
Makes it sound like he was born of two species. Or, like, gene spliced. :ohwell:

never heard it before XD but I bet everyone kinda figured the turtles were half-human.
|
Exactly.... if they weren't they'd still be crawling around the bottom of a glass bowl...

I'd prefer Bipedal Turtles or Humanoid Turtles. But with the Nick mutagen following the physics of Fred Wolf mutagen, it's a accurate description. They are hybrids with human DNA.

I never thought of the mutagen making them half human, but in Nick it might just do that.

Now I'm gonna go a bit off topic here, but something that has been bothering me about the physics of the mutagen is that they seem kind of arbitrary. If you look back at ep 9 (the gaunlet), Bradford and Xever are shown interacting with the animals they would later be turned into, but just before they get hit with the ooze, they fought the turtles with bare hands. Shouldn't they have turned into some kind of turlte mutant instead? Like it happened to Hun in turtles forever. I know it doesn't serve the purposes of the show to have them mutated into turtles, but still. |
The Turtles were already mutants though so when Xever and Bradford touched them it might not have worked.

We have to interpret the 'rules' (which are really just whatever the writers find most convenient for a given situation) as they come... like when baxter became a mutant fly in the OT, how would that work in the Nick series? When the turtles were fighting bradford and xever why did they mutate with the dog and fish they'd came in contact with and not say, a fly or some other insect they are likely to have came into contact with in the meantime? The only sensible answer is because the writers wanted it that way. But the "in universe" explanation may be more complicated. Perhaps it as to do with the level of contact involved, or some sort of synergy between the two entities.
Anyway using "X and human hybrid" is redundant since so far every mutant is half human and we don't know if that will ever change. There's Justin but it may well have been part human. |
