Long time TMNT fan, new to the fandom

I tend to be more of a lurker than a poster, but considering I've been browsing these forums off and on since a few years ago and a fair amount recently, it seemed appropriate to finally sign up.

I grew up loving the '87 Turtles, playing the NES games, and watching the movies, but being a young girl that only knew boys that liked TMNT, I didn't really get the chance to hang out with other fans (ah, the age where boys thought girls had cooties). I would always give the new versions of the franchise a try, but I never really got into any of them, so while I was excited to see the newest version, I was skeptical as to whether or not I would actually enjoy it. Long story short, I love it, and I find myself wanting to actually interact with fellow fans - something I never had the chance to do back during the Turtlemania of the 80s/90s.

Few other random Turtle related facts about me are that I've never read any of the comics, though I would like to, I only have one action figure from the old days (Shell Kickin Raph) that after years of being missing I saved from the lawn mower, and while Mikey was my favorite at the age of 4, that changed to Raph after I saw the first movie and he's been my favorite ever since.

I can relate to that, actually! When I was a kid, I loved TMNT old toon when I was a child - but boys would get really annoyed with me on me liking TMNT because it was the whole "You can't watch this! This is for boys!" Ah, childhood.

Ah yes, I specifically remember getting grumpy when my neighbor (who was my age) would only play TMNT with my little brother because he was a boy and I was not. Of course, he was also the only one in my family to get TMNT toys, so my parents' reinforcement of the idea that it was "just for boys" didn't help. But that just meant I had to steal my brother's toys instead. ^_~

Thanks! Yes, they are pins. I made them out of craft foam. I also have a set from the 2012 show, but they aren't as cute because I didn't add the weapons.
