Introducing Casey Jones
I've been wondering how they could introduce Casey into the series and make him retain most of his aspects. I was thinking a similar manner to that of the 2003 series, but I think they might do something different. I've also been wondering who could voice him. What do you think?

I have no predictions on his introduction (other than they might use the classic Raph meeting him first thing), but as far as his voice actor goes...
I see a lot of people predicting/wanting Dante Basco (Zuko from Avatar) just because Mae Whitman (Katara from Avatar) is April now. I say bleh to that, that's just letting fans of that shipping live vicariously through TMNT. :P My personal pick, because he can do great comedy and action both, is Will Friedle. I don't know if he's ever worked with Nick before though, and he could potentially end up busy with Girl Meets World soon, so who knows. I also predict tension between him and Donnie for obvious reasons. |
I'd welcome the return of the 80's Dirty Harry kick-ass vigilantee, just not as silly. I still kinda prefer him as an occassional guest star in the series rather than a new member of the team.
|
He's probably going to be very similar to how he is in the IDW series. He's an 18 year old high school student.
|
One of the more interesting aspects of his introduction could be the tension between him and Donatello. I would love to see an episode where the two confront each other over their feelings.
|
I just assumed it'd be Corey Feldman. Or do we know who he's playing, yet? It was implied Feldman's character and Raphael would have a special relationship.
|
I hope they don't get Basco... I'm not really familiar with his other work, but he was...strange in Avatar. >_> He sort of always sounded like he was reading from a script. Unless Zuko was getting pissed. That's when he reeeally shined. I'm not sure if it was just because of the nature of the character, or if that's just how he does voice work, but it took some time to get used to... I'm not sure I'd like him as Casey Jones though....
Since they already did an episode on Raph's anger, Casey's probably going to run into the turtles due to his masked vigilante gig. I only really have one criteria for Casey, and that is, he has to be funny. I don't care how this is accomplished, but when Casey was on the screen in the 2003 version, I was pretty much always in stitches. He somehow managed to come across as likeable, despite being a gungho bonehead. But maybe that's just me. I just really liked the fact that he was an unabashed smartass. And yes. I'm actually really looking forward to the Donnie/Casey bomb counting down. It's going to be interesting and pave the way for looots of character development. Assuming they still go the 'Casey/April' route. I guess that's pretty much standard by now, but who knows, they might change that? |

Found the quote from Ciro: "His role is a perfect complement to his relationship with Sean. It couldn't be any better." http://www.tvguide.com/News/Teenage-...n-1057140.aspx The article also says Feldman's expected to do multiple episodes. It's not at all proof. But Casey fits the bill. It's where my money is, if only because of personal hope. |
Hmm...I'm not sure what to think about Feldman playing the role. It could be fun, but I was really hoping for Friedle for some reason. He could do it well maybe though, and if they go the 'LAWBREAKER!' route, he's got a deeper gravelly voice now that could work for that.

And considering what a smart mouth Raph is, it'll be an interesting dynamic XD |
They could do it like this.

If I had to guess, I would say that Casey would be introduced in a similar way to the Pulverizer, but he would actually be able to beat up the Purple Dragons instead of coming off as silly. Raph would probably think he was cool, but something about his methods would make the other guys think that Casey was going overboard. After several attempts to make him stop fighting crime (or at least tone it down), they'd get into a situation together where the Turtles and Casey have to work together to win. Everyone would end up learning some lesson. Roll credits. :tlol: |
I for one hope they'll go the classic way and introduce him somewhat similar to Mirage/1990 Movie/2k3.
|
It probably won't be until season 2 and I predict he will be a guest but not regular. He will be younger and clost to Raph. That's my prediction.
|
I kinda think he may be that older, "badboy with a heart of gold", Sort of charachter. But who knows? We will see....
|
Shark_Blade, that was the most 90's thing I've seen in a long time XDDD That was great. An intro like that would be awesome.
Those poor foot ninja's. That was one New York welcome. Also, I think it's already confirmed that he's going to be older, but still in high school. "He got held back" was the line I remember reading. |

is 18 held back?? 0_0...well I guess it depends on what grade he's in... |
