KCA: TMNT Content?
 

Apparently the Kids Choice Awards are on Nick tonight. Should we expect any mention of the turtles? Any clips, voice actors or Ciro appearing, costumed characters, etc? I haven't watched the KCA in mad years so I have no idea how things go down.

They have done things with Nicktoons occasionally in the past. A few years ago they had a CGI Po from Kung Fu Panda in the audience to promote the new show. Then CGI OddParents to promote the live-action movie. But TMNT has already premiered so I can't see them doing anything like that for TMNT this year. You never know, though.

I'm not sure about costume characters. I don't remember seeing any at the KCAs before. However, according to this press release there will be cardboard cutouts of the turtles for celebrities to take pictures with.

I was actually very surprised to see that TMNT wasn't nominated for favorite cartoon. I mean, surely they could have put TMNT in instead of Tom and Jerry. As for appearances, I doubt it. IF the show was nominated, then I could see the characters being there, but I don't think we'll get anything too huge from TMNT tonight.

Whoa, they weren't nominated? That sucks. I might check it out tonight anyway, but if the Turtles aren't even nominated, then maybe I shouldn't bother.

Even if TMNT had been nominated, there still probably wouldn't have been any special TMNT appearances or anything. Favorite Cartoon is one of the minor categories that they announce during a commercial break or on a scrolling banner at the bottom of the screen.

Like HerpDerp said, it has happened with characters in the past. It's unlikely, but not impossible. :tsmile:

Which is ridiculous IMO. That should be one of the major categories. I will be watching it tonight though.

How in the world with good ratings (second only to Spongebob) does the series not get nominated, given that Nicktoons has been a primary genre of Nick programming since 1991? That said, I remember watching the KCA's during Nick's golden age in the '90s, where many celebrities would plug cool shows and I enjoy the audience interaction. At least there will be something to check out, but I'll probably pass since I don't watch any other Nick shows. I wonder whose behind what gets nominated unlike more well known shows, since I imagine that the voters just aren't Turtle fans! :x

maybe these awards were for whatever was on air last season and tmnt wont be in the running for awards til next year?

Just saw a commercial for TMNT Nabi tablet accessories. Does that count? :P

Just saw a commercial telling us there will be new episodes in 2 weeks.

Just saw it too. Wonder if the new episodes will be on Friday night or Saturday morning.

^I don't care when it's on, I'm just happy we're getting new episodes.

Anyway, I wish TMNT would have been nominated for favorite cartoon, so a show other than Spongebob could win for once. They actually announced the favorite cartoon DURING the show this year...

I hope they continue the Friday airings as soon I'll have some eye doctor appointments, and I don't want to have to watch it with a dilated eye. That's not fun.

Hey. Newsflash. Even if TMNT was nominated, Spongebob still would've won.

You don't know that.

Kids vote on it. Spongebob is still the most popular cartoon around by a very large margin.

Okay, fine. Well, if TMNT had been nominated, at least there would be a cartoon that stood a chance against Spongebob.

Yeah, next year at this time we're gonna be talking about how Spongebob beat the Turtles.

Was Transformers: Prime nominated? I consider it to be the best cartoon on tv at the moment. I'm really gonna miss it once the current season, which is the final season, comes to an end. And with Young Justice and Star Wars: The Clone Wars also both having come to an end, Nick's TMNT is gonna be the only action cartoon left for me to watch. :(
