Would you like to see the Dragons return?
Would you like for the Dragons from The Next Mutation to appear again? I personally would like to I'd like to see them make a come back if only to be replacements for The Kraang and The Shredder in the current series.

Three things:
I. Welcome to the drome. II. Not to be rude but.....No No No No. A thousand times NO! Dragon Lord and the Rank were cheap knockoffs of the Shredder and the Foot. III. Out of all of the various iterations of TMMT, The Next Mutation is probably the LAST iteration you'd want to emulate. |
I would love to see another take on the Dragon Lord and his Rank minions

Basically the same, Dragon Lord wants to take over the world
|
No, I mean how would you introduce him in the show. He's not from Dimension X and the only plausible way to bring him in is to introduce Venus De Milo. And I'm pretty sure the fans would get pissed if THAT happened
|
Oh, I thought you meant those bizarre dragon avatars that the turtles manifested during The Lost Season of the 4kids show. No, I don't ever want to see those things again.

If anything, I want these guys in the IDW book. |

While the show has it's flaws, there's merit in the character design. There's no reason to be afraid to give some of those characters justice. A hunter dying to get his hands on mutants, a mafia gorilla, a Chinese dragon warrior, a mad scientists, these are all your average kinds of villains seen across various versions of the TMNT. Plenty of potential for re-interpretation.
|
True, i can see Bonesteel being like Kraven the Hunter or Deadshot. Silver might be like Black Mask. Van-Mi, maybe. But everyone else (especially Dr. Quease, who was a Baxter Stockman clone.) seems out of place because they don't feel like TMNT villians, they feel like villians from Power Rangers who didn't make the final cut.
|
Quease and Stockman are NOTHING alike. One is a white balding deformed freak of nature dressed like a surgeon, the other is a proper presentable black man with glasses and lab attire. Quease is a famous professor of science who studies anatomy in nature, wanting to kill and dissect anything that isn't human. Baxter is a robotics expert.
Your problem with the others is that you're judging them based on cheap puppetry and bad acting. Take the same designs in 2D, as comic book villains, and make them intellectually competent, and you've got badass characters. |
I never watched Next Mutation but it sounds pretty cool to see another version of Dragon Lord.

I have to say that I like the bad dudes in NM. As Powder says, they are pretty much the staple diet for kids shows.
I like the idea of any of the main 4 returning. Queeg is great. Actually, the character is SO DS9 Garak it's unbelievable. Took me till his second episode to figure who he reminded me of. Silver, the gorilla mafia boss and his Dick Tracy styled mobsters are great. The Mutant Hunter, Bonesteel; there's got to be a character like that in the show. Each interpretation has had a character like that. And DragonLord. The name and character design are fantastic. The execution of the characters would obviously be different, as this new show is not trying to be like Batman from the 60s. |

It's all good, and I don't disagree with you. The whole show is essentially wasted potential. I like it a lot for what it is, but I know that virtually every bit of it (with the possible exception of Venus) could be portrayed muuuuch better. & don't sweat it, you weren't rude.
|
Thank you, I also like The Next Mutation, in that I find it to be like The Room or Birdemic. Because it's so bad it's hilarious and extremely entertaining. Be it the costumes, the laughable dubbing, and it had a few funny scenes.

Dragon Lord is a pretty bad ass idea and have a great character design.
http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__...3e/Prodrag.gif As the ruler of Dragons and the earth before Humankind rose up, imprisoned on a magical mirror with his army for eons. After defeating the mirror's guardian Chung I through mental powers, draining the guardian from all of his energies, killing him. The Dragon Lord and his Rank army is set free to re-claim what the Dragon Lord views as rightfully his. This is the basic gist from the Next Mutation series. |
