Design Changes
I think it would be really cool to change the character models a smidge for each new season. It may make the turtles look like they are growing up. Not to much, like so we don't even notice, but if we watch season one then the finale season they look very different. Maybe do that with April,Karai, and others to.
|
That might be cool somewhere down the road. Like they made slight changes to the character models in Star Wars The Clone Wars. :tsmile:

Considering time isn't moving all that fast, and season 2 will presumably pick up in the same week (in their timeline) as the last ep of season 1, AND the fact turtles age slowly, it would be pointless.
|
Because that worked soooo well for Red sky and FF...
|
Yeah, I doubt they would age that fast. It just seems pointless with how time goes in cartoons. Keep them as they are.
|
or how about maybe have them slowly change in muscularity? It would be cool to maybe see Mikey catch up a little bit in the next seasons. Or maybe see Raph get even more muscular etc
|
If they age the Turtles and April to 18 they made change the designs later on.

Then phase it out the series with Geriatric Mutant Ninja Turtles where they all have Alztimers and can't even remember what they had for breakfast. |
This is Nickelodeon guys, do they even have a single show with an 18 year old protagonist in it?

which reminds me...if Mako can be with Korra and she's only 16... why can't Casey (18 I'm guessing) be with April (16)??? (for those who had a problem with it) |

Anyway, while I think it might be interesting to see the TMNT cast slowly age, I'm not in any hurry for it. We do have a sense of time passing though (they mention things like meeting April months ago or something happening weeks ago - can't remember specifics off the top of my head), so it might come into play if the series lasts long enough. Obviously they couldn't go too old, though, or else they wouldn't be teenagers anymore, so I think a change every season might be a bit too fast. |

yeah, in the gauntlet I think it was the first time where leo referred to the time passing...he said something like 'in the last few months/weeks we have been fighting etc..'..
but I remember someone from the show(think it was shared through tmntmaster?) posted a pic of the rooftops in the show covered in snow blankets that would be time passing for ya....I am actually really looking forward to seeing a winter episode...doesnt HAVE to be a christmas episode again for me but just one in the snow will be fun... about the design changes?nope, not for me...not so soon anyway...I can imagine making them grow up visually as well but as others have mentioned I too think it would be too soon in season two already... |

One of my favorite parts of catching the first couple episodes of a new season of my favorite shows is seeing how the characters have changed. Maybe they look a bit older or have a hairstyle change. However small or insignificant the change may be I love the idea. Maybe not right away (season 2) but as the series progresses I would be in favor of seeing your idea play out. Especially because teenagers are always trying to "find themselves" and often go through many changes to do so (clothing, music tastes, friend circles, etc.).
|
Interesting theory. I would be interested in something like that.....but maybe in a different series continuing after this incarnation of the turtles. Not just Season 2. Kind of like how the shinobi look older in Naruto: Shippuden than just Naruto.
