Is Minae Noji playing Karai?
 

Someone pointed out in another thread that on the crew page of the movie's IMDb page, it shows that there's a stunt double for the actress Minae Noji, but she has yet to be announced to be part of the cast. Are they keeping her a secret for some reason? I assume that her character is of some importance if she has a stunt double, meaning she's probably involved in some fight scenes.

Karai comes to mind first. Assuming they keep his Japanese heritage intact, this would make Shredder a bit older, but I'd be fine with that.

OR here's an idea... If Shredder MUST be tinkered with, what if we actually had a female Shredder, with Karai inheriting the title/armor from her father? It could be an interesting conflict to have the two "offspring" of Oroku Saki and Hamato Yoshi seeking revenge on behalf of their fathers. Just a wild theory, but it could explain the secrecy around Noji's character. (And at least it's not Schrader...)

Karai probably isn't in the movie. She wasn't in the original script so why add her now?

Well, Saki is a girl name, that is why the Japanese dub Shredder is renamed Sawaki.

They were aliens in the original script, why change them now?

She's probably just Tang Shen in a flashback scene. Needs a stunt double for her inevitable fall at the hands of Oroku Saki.

If they show that then splinter will be Hamato Yoshis pet rat and not Hamato Yoshi himself. Cause they cant have Hamato Yoshi as a midget.. Ppl would laugh.

He's been a rat first in all of the movies, and the original comics. I don't think that's very far-fetched. Was the sole purpose of your post to mock little people?

Unless maybe size plays a factor in the mutation. The mutagen shrinks Yoshi down closer to the size of the rat he last touches, whereas it makes the turtles human-sized. They could show Hamato Yoshi played by a Japanese actor in flashbacks without dialogue.

it could work i guess but it would be weird to show a japanese yoshi, then show splinter talking and he does not sound japanese at all and sounds american.. even if yoshi does not talk, would still be weird, unless that actor can pull off a slightly japanese accent.

I don't know why Shredder would have to be older if she's Karai. She doesn't have to be Shredder's daughter. She had no relation to him until 2K3.

Again, though, you read this on IMDB. I run across bulls**t all the time there. It's like a Wiki only you need to contact mods to get crap removed so it takes longer.

Not saying it's not true. Just y'know, grain of salt and all that.

To be honest, I wouldn't count on these guys pulling any characters who weren't in OT.

stop using this weird script as a definitive road of where this new movie was going for...we all dont know if this was ever considered THE one from the makers of this film....sheesh..

karai actually isn t the daughter of shredder in the orginal comic books, so they could give us both:a great looking karai(oh man, this woman looks STUNNING!) and shredder in his best years;)

Scenes from the original script have already been confirmed for making the rewrite. Just saying.

I really hope she turns out to be Karai. I know the movie is relying heavily on the OT, but there's no reason why the movie couldn't merge things from multiple universes together. Other then that, I'm treating this as a good sign that they haven't revealed the full cast yet.

Yeah, it's true that they probably salvaged a few scenes from the OS, but as far as I understand, they changed quite a bit of it as well. Perhaps this is one of those changes?
