My family is broke with the possiblity of loosing our possesions
Guys, I've done a lot of horrible stuff here the past few months, and I regret every last bit of it, but I need your help.
Before I get to the main problem, I want to bring back my father for a bit. He had a talk with me the other night that completely changed the way I saw him. I don't want to get into personal things, but my brain was damaged today because of my own mother. She kept cats around me as an infant, fed me cold soup, and was never around when I was sick. When I was two, I had to go to the emergency room. My brain swelled to the point where the doctors thought I wouldn't make it. I recovered thanks my father and step-mom, and I obtained symptoms of autism because my mother poisoned me. All these years I antagonized him and believed my mother, when my dad was the true loving parent. As you know, my parents are divorced and both sides are in debt including me with my father. My father couldn't afford a home or normal apartment, and we were forced into living in a elderly reserve (which is an apartment in some ways). Right now, we're almost out of food, and what we have left to live off off is cheap hot dogs and cereal. I'm literally starving right now. If don't get money by the end of the month, we could lose our electricity and be forced to live in the dark. My mother isn't any better than we are now. She has been trying to move things out of her mother house since she died, and it's taken her months to get everything out. Her mother's house is more than 50 miles away from her home, and she has to get up very early in the morning to drive down there in the smoldering heat, with no one else to help her. She's been searching for jobs for months, so never was able to get any of them because she didn't have a college degree. She found one eventually but it pays hardly enough money to get her gasoline or pay her bills, which she's behind on. She has a small-paying job and moving heavy furniture out of her mother's house everyday. She's 3 months behind on paying for her possessions in storage, and the storage manager keeps calling her about paying the rent, and is about to put them on auction. My mother called me today and told me about this. She literally broke down in tears on the phone. She then told me she was ready to give up. I tried to cheer her up but my phone conveniently ran out of battery, and I wasn't able to help her. Guys, I know most of you hate me now, but please, I need your help. I'm not saying all this just so you can feel sorry for me, I am literally having my family and my life destroyed around me! If you have any sympathy, please pray for my family. We can't hold off much longer, and I'm slowly loosing faith in God. Please don't let my past sins take away from my humanity. |
If you need serious counseling, there are far better places to post things like this than a TMNT forum.
There are websites to help you where you can talk to others with similar problems or need some advice. Google some interesting sites for support. |

Not a religious person but for what it's worth I wish you the best. I've been in and out of a similar situation many times before.

I work with individuals who are in VERY similar situations. I'm not saying going to counseling is the fix for your sorrows, but I highly encourage you to consider it. MOST agencies are prepared for these types of scenarios and even have crisis teams. I see your post as a plea for help. There's a lot of pain in the words used. Though you disclose that you seek prayers over counseling, please consider this as an option. People like me don't get into this line of work for the monetary aspects of it. We care about others and live to provide some guidance to others when the needed (we ALL need help and support, even counselors). Counselors are human too and understand most dynamics at work. Feel free to PM me for any "advice" as to what your options are. For ethical considerations, I'm not going to "counsel" you or provide any therapeutic intervention. I just want to see that you gain what resources/support you need through this process. My condolences. |

I too echo the support sentiments. Nobody deserves to go through this, please keep us updated

I am from a poor family and I understand. My own story is full of lessons learned in the hardest ways. But if you hit bottom, you climb back up. So many terrible situations I thought I could not escape from, but managed.
The answers will come... but IMO, not from prayer. But from smarts, work and a bit of luck. |

Now I don't know all of the details of your situation but if you are hungry find a local food bank. You can get some food from them and it should not take much to qualify, probably nothing more than a bill stating where you live.
If you are diagnosed with autism I would think you could get some sort of disability benefits that could help pay your bills. Since you are asking for prayers, why not also hit up the catholic charities and see how they can help your family. -ms |
I'd say go to food pantries or food banks to get food. Maybe you could qualify for food stamps, too. Maybe you could try and get a small job to help out if possible. Every little bit helps, and maybe you could find a way to help your dad out by working. If work isn't available with retailers and the like, maybe you could mow lawns or help clean houses for money.
I feel for your situation, but the only way you'll get help is through deeds not just prayers. Then again, I'm not religious and really don't believe in things like that anyway. I believe in doing something to help others, not just sitting around and praying to something that isn't there. |
Ya know.....when someone brings up that they are asking for prayer, it isn't the time to put your two cents about whether or not there is a God. Someone's hurting. If they believe in God they don't need someone saying it's silly to pray to something that isn't there.
Truth is, praying does makes you feel better. Whether it is in a religious context or a secular one. Don't bring that back in here. Also to the OP, churches will help you with food and bills. Most major denomination churches pastors will have a discretionary fund for them to use as they see fit. I had to ask for help after my fiance was killed a few years ago. There's no shame in it. My church asked for nothing in return. I will pray. |
