O hai! So, I'm an old fan of TMNT from back in the 80s, when I was a little kid. I lived to watch the show on Saturday mornings while eating the cereal, play the TMNT games at Chuck E. Cheese's (then called Showbiz Pizza), and read the comic books while eating TMNT fruit snacks. My mom thought girls should stick to Barbies and horses, so I only got TMNT during weekends with my dad, but those were some badass weekends.

I'd been avoiding the franchise lately because not all the stuff that's come out since has been so good, and I preferred to simply preserve my childhood memories. However, I randomly started watching the new Nick series a couple of weeks ago, and I think it's amazing - the script is really funny and clever, and it has just enough anime style to look slick without being obnoxious. I'm really glad that they've made a good reboot and that it's licensed to go on for a couple of years, unlike what happened to the last kid's show I enjoyed. :x

Looking forward to getting both my nostalgia and my fangirl on here! :fshifty:

I discovred the 2003 series before the Nick series (thanks to youtube). Did you watch it?

The 2003 series is more serious and following the comics (most of the time) so it's interesting. Not as funny as the Nick one, but I like how badass the turtles look in the 2003 series ^^

I haven't seen it - thanks, I need something to do while I wait billions of years between 2012 episodes.

I started watching in 1989-1990, so I definitely haven't seen the whole thing. I'm planning to do so, though. I would give my arm to have my comic books back, too!

Welcome Doom Cookie! I had the opposite...my parents never thought it was bad that I liked TMNT as a kid, although they did find my obsession silly. And here I am about 25 years later and still loving them. It was my peers that thought it was odd that a girl liked the TMNT :P. So welcome to the 'drome!!! :D
