"TMNT: Blood Brothers" film

Saw this on go green machine. The filmmaker went all practical with the latex costumes.

Cool stuff, but there's no way in hell this is gonna happen. For how ambitious he is (Fugitoid, Mousers, Krang, Triceratons, etc.) I don't see how he could do much of anything for $30,00. While the props are really nice, they're far from film-grade. & I imagine Viacom will put the banhammer on this dude before anything else. If he manages to pull it off I'll definitely check it out and prolly buy a copy of the DVD just for the hell of it, but I'm not counting on it.

I don't think the ban hammer will come out. I mean, there is Fight the Foot and the Casey Jones movie and they are still around.

Yeah, if he isn't using CG, I have no idea how he could pull this off with Triceratons AND Mousers + all the other stuff.
But I will pledge just to see how this turns out. And becuase the props look pretty cool.

i'd drop $25 for a copy of the dvd. i'd love to own the krang, toid, or even a mouser, but those donations are well out of my price range.

Andrew NDB 08-01-2013 01:48 PM

Definitely not for me, but I can respect their effort.

Man, if I could get a hold of some serviceable TMNT costumes, I tell ya...

Those were not campaigned for donations. They were independently produced and came seemingly out of the blue. This, on the other hand, is right out in the open, looking to be invested in. There was a fan comic that had a Kickstarter about a month ago, some sort of TMNT zombies thing, and they got the boot from Viacom. & their goal was only like... $3500, I think.

I think you're right. People making youtube videos for enjoyment in a fandom doesn't seem like it would bring on the ban hammer.

A fan video for youtube is one thing but a hard copy of something like a comic book that can be collected/re-sold is a whole other thing. It's not like kickstarter backers are investing. They are donating to a fan film project. Investing implies the investor makes profit. Big difference.

Powder 08-02-2013 02:29 PM

This is not a youtube project. This is a $30,000 budget film that he looks to sell on DVD. Big difference.

Ramboraph4life aka Matt 08-02-2013 03:04 PM

I can respect the effort but I'm not sure what the guy really thinks the outcome will be...

I really don't see him getting his $30,000.

If this was something he was giving away for free, it's one thing. But like others have said, you can't really go make something and then Sell it without the "sue" word getting thrown in. (probably a reason that TMNT fan documentary will be hard to get released unless Nick takes a look at it and agrees to it).

It's probably why stuff like that "Dirty Laundry" Punisher one with Thomas Jane didn't get into trouble, since they didn't sell it. They just released it out for people to enjoy and watch.

I wonder what ever happened to that "Fight the Foot" one by the way, they made that one little trailer which was very cool and then vanished. Too bad.

That's all it was ever gonna be man, they said so. Ironically, that trailer seems to reflect the new movie. April's appearance, the white para-military thugs, etc.

I didn't know they said that. Was it on their youtube page?

That's too bad that they didn't go further with it. Would have been interesting as an internet series or something.

Ah, yes it is and no he doesn't. Did you watch the video? He says that it is a youtube video for the fans. He is giving away DVD's as donation perks.

The Fight the Foot guys actually tweeted about making a web series back in February. Asking fans what characters they wanted focus on. Six episodes I think it was. I haven't heard anything since, though.

Twitter is where I read it. Dude said it was just a trailer and that he & his team were moving on to something else that I can't remember the name of.

I was a bit mixed up then, my mistake.

At any rate, it's interesting that they now plan to make it a web series. A few months after the trailer hit I saw the tweet I mention above but perhaps fan interest warranted more content.

According to the kickstarter video, he's putting it on youtube and you get a copy of the dvd for donating. That's not selling it. It's like when you get a tote bag from PBS for donating.

We're not going to get the old school latex costumes in Bay's film so why not a youtube video "made possible by viewers like you" lol

Right

I hope that happens. I want to see a Fight the Foot web series and maybe a web series from this guy. But's let's see how his youtube video turns out first. He didn't mention any foot clan in his project so I'm really happy about the Fight the Foot possibility. Foot Clan is obviously very important to me :)

Nick Principe to star in TMNT fan film

Saw this KickStarter on Go Green Machine. They made this UPDATE(About Nick Principe) a couple of days ago. Looks like it could be amazing IF they pull it off.

Hey man this is like the third thread about this subject...

Master of the Foot Clan 08-07-2013 05:22 PM

2nd. Seems like you like to exaggerate facts(like in the last thread) This is pretty exciting and has to do with Movies in general. Nick Principe is a REAL actor and he is acting in a TMNT fan film. If that's not news short of anything Kevin Eastman or Michael Bay related, I don't know what is.

Since I've been back I've posted IN 3 threads (one was about cameos in the Michael Bay reboot and had nothing to do with the above). Next time you go trolling through my history make sure you double check what you are talking about.

Powder 08-07-2013 07:44 PM

3rd. There is one in the Fan-works section & one in the Movies section. Don't try to one up somebody when you're wrong. I never checked your post history and I don't care to. Don't flatter yourself, homie.

Davin 08-07-2013 08:00 PM

BLT!!! The FP is hilarious. (A movie Nick Principe is in if you guys haven't seen it)
