Slip Cover for Rise of the Turtles?
It just occurred to me that my Rise of the Turtles DVD doesn't have a slip cover but Enter Shredder does.
Did the volume 1 ever release with one of those sleeves? Or did I somehow buy a new copy without one? Just curious... |
I've got a slip cover for both DVD's, however the second one didn't include the poster. :(
|
Huh. I did get a slip cover and poster with Enter Shredder, but the inside of the case sleeve is blank - is it supposed to have Donatello's bio, like the first disc with Leonardo?
Seems the DVD is different depending on the store you get it from... |
Mine has the Donatello bio, yeah. This is freakin' weird! I bought mine at Wal-mart on the day of release, what about you guys?
|
I got the two-pack at Walmart maybe last Tuesday or Wednesday. Neither had slip covers, both had bios, and Shredder had a poster.

I have both DVDs with slipcovers both from Walmart. They have the bios and the posters. Really weird that some people got different ones.

Rise - bought at Walmart, has slipcase and poster
Shredder - first bought @ Walmart, realized had no poster (only a Vudu code), took to Target and exchanged for their's which had a slipcase and poster. At Walmart they had the two-pack but neither had a poster. |
I'm assuming the Canadian release (complete with mawkish and utterly unappealing French translations) doesn't come with the inside bio as a general rule. Suppose they found it too time-consuming to translate.
Bilingualism strikes again! |
That's crazy!
I got my Rise of the Turtles on July 31st (according to my post in my Stash thread lol) without poster or slip cover but with Leo's bio from Walmart. I THINK I got it from Flagstaff location. I just picked up Enter Shredder 2 or 3 days ago from WalMart... I think at the location I used to always go to when I lived in North Glendale (on my way home from seeing Pacific Rim in IMAX 3D on the largest screen in AZ). It has a slip cover, poster and Don's profile. They both had Vudu codes but I have never redeemed any Vudu codes from any WalMart purchase... Quote:

Okay. So I remember at Walmart, some packages had a POSTER INSIDE sticker on the cover and some didn't I'm guessing no sticker=no poster.

Most of the time studios release slip covers of the Blu-ray or DvD for the 1st press only and then in a month or two they stop releasing the cases with the slip cover.
|
Ya, I have heard this but it's hard to prove. I do prefer my movies with nice slip covers personally.
Ted, which has been out for awhile, are still showing up in WalMarts I been to with slip covers. I have seen stores run out of shelf inventory as well because I waited for a price drop and I eventually got it on BluRay because it was, like, $15 or so and had the slip cover. I still see Wreck It Ralph BluRay with slip covers as well... so, in a way, yes usually first printings get the nice special cover but many times after, so continue to show up with them and others dont. |
I was in the Cottonwood walmart today.
I saw one copy of Rise of the Turtles on the shelf. it had a slip cover and a poster. the slip cover was also destroyed... |
bought the latest dvd, has a slip-cover and a poster! so happy! now if i can just get the poster from "Rise" that'd be awesome
|
I'm on the look out for "Rise" with a slip cover.
I dont really care about the poster. I probably wouldn't hang them up, just leave them in the case. |

It seems weird that they'd put out different versions at all. |
I got both DVDs from amazon (both were preorders). Both came with a slip cover and a poster.
