Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Training
I just noticed something about season 1 of the Nick show: There are not many training sequences within the show. It would be cool to show the turtles practice their moves. I guess this is to focus on the teenage angle instead of the ninja angle for the turtles. The 2003 series occasionally showed the turtles training with master splinter. Why do they seem to have so much free time to watch space heroes, read comic books, and not practice their skills?
Does anyone else feel the same or did I miss any practice sessions? The only instances I can think of is with any significance was the first episode(Rise of the Turtles) training session, and the episode with the rat king controlling splinter. Also I think it would be cool for the second season, to focus a little more on the "Ninja" part of the turtles, and tone down the teenage part, slightly. :tsmile: |

There have been training scenes in almost every episode. What show are you watching?

I also got the feeling it was implied those training sessions also last a lot longer and happen more frequently than we get to see on screen. |
The training scenes are my favorite, too. I think if they showed any more, they'd be less awesome. They have to balance out training, actual fighting, downtime, comedy, and standing around going "hmmm, what are those dastardly Kraang up to tonight?" in a less-than-25 minute slot.
What I do want to see is Mike/Don get the one-up on Raph/Leo without everything going terribly wrong immediately afterward (like in "Operation Breakout"). |
I know I watch TMNT for the training sequences....no...wait...
Have any of the series shown all that much training? I mean, it only mainly shows up when it's plot necessary. |
I seem to have forgotten the training sequences in the span of the season. Please excuse me for the misinformation.
If it is not too much trouble could anyone give me examples of sequences in which the turtles are just only honing their skills? |

I suppose the training sequences is to get to know the characters,
but when we've seen them spar a few times it doesn't really give us any more information. Personally I'd rather see ''real'' fighting scenes instead of sparring. |

and recently when Donnie and Raph were training in operation break out XD dude there were alot. |
Don't forget when splinter overtrained them after the gauntlet
|
The training scenes have been fantastic... it lets the animators show off their skills a bit, and we get a lot more actual martial arts in use in this show than any other tv version we've seen to date.
...and really, who doesn't love a little Rondori?? |
Does the time Splinter showed Donnie not to over think while sparring a Mikey who was listening to his MP3 player count?

I'm gonna just list them for him XD
1) first episode they were training (Raph vs Don & Mike vs Leo....then Raph vs Leo) 2)* turtle temper* they were training to help Raph to take insults by shooting arrows at them 3) *new friend old enemy* they were training learn Bradfords secret kata 4) *monkey brains* Mikey and Donnie were training together and learning to fight without thinking 5) * I think his name is baxtar stockman* they were training (were half asleep though) 6) *panic in the sewers* they were training because of losing to Shedder 7) *mousers attack* they were training to learn to get along (A team vs B team) whew...and that was only the first part of the season :D |
Didn't see it mentioned above (apologies if it was), but there was also the "weapons-swapping" training session. Sure they all sucked, but it was still training.
