How do you feel about the turtles wearing clothing, armor, or accessories
Honestly if it is not too much I would't mind.
I don't like the idea of turtles wearing clothes because to me the shells are their clothes. When comes to accessories, I believe it's very necessary. They don't have super powers so they need all the tools that they can get.
What I like is when they have small customizations of their basic gear, like with Santolouco designs: Pockets for sais, and nunchucks and stuff like that. I wasn't the fan of the altered headbands, but they're actually not that annoying.
I'm also okay with them wearing disgueses when going to the streets, like trenchcoats or hoodies. Or any baggy clothes that hide their turtle-shaped body at a night's darkness. |

The comment about grabbing everything made me think of this, lol. How could you even move? Spoiler:

Totally agree. Clothes not needed all the time, but surface disguises work.
I like it within reason. Whenever the Turtles get too many accessories it always feels out of place. Like the robot Don in Vol. 4. Too much.
Of course, they need outerwear on the strets at daylight.
I like them naked as is (basic default gear).
All they ever wear was a belt buckle with a thing on the back to hold there weapons. And since they are covered in a shell, There umm... privates will never show.

I've found the perfect comic to illustrate this.

Light Clothes- Sure, as long as its not too much.
Armor- Maybe Accessories (Aka Roid' Rage Raph.)- As long as its not bodycount. |
I liked how Tristan Jones had them in some garb in some of his stories. So... stuff like that.
I like it when it fits the story or adds to the scene in some way. For example, the trenchcoats and fedoras as disguises, or when it's done for laughs like in the OT - the scene where they dress up as mobsters wouldn't have been nearly as amusing had they donned their typical/no disguises.
I thought their clothes were pretty cool. They definitely should have thought about wearing them in Turtles Forever when they went to that pizza restaurant (not that it was possible).
As for the armor, I don't think it would be practical if the Turtles are constantly doing acrobatic jumps. It would be exhausting wearing any type of metallurgy armor in physical combat for long periods of time.
As for clothes, its hilarious either way, if they wear them or not. |
