Introducing the Nintendo 2ds
awesome and perfect for kids, especially younger kids who aren't supposed to be viewing 3D content. Great move for nintendo, they are going to sell a ton of these along with the new pokemon games.
As for me, while I like the look of this, I'll stick with my 3DS XL |
The thing looks ugly. I will also stick to my 3DS XL.
I'm happy with my regular 3DS, No need for the XL or the non 2D one. I'm used to looking at the 3D in mines anyways. :)
So weird looking. Perfect for kids, though. Probably gonna end up being what I get my nephew to replace his busted 3ds.
The different name is going to confuse casuals. Even when the DS had 4 different revisions it all kept the same name, as did the 3DS to XL. Or the GBA to GBASP.
The 2DS could flop entirely like the Gameboy Micro did. If that's the case it might be worth getting just for novelty or collectors sake. |
Count me in as one of those who's sticking to the 3DS, even if I only use the 3D feature for cut scenes in games. Using it full time just makes my head hurt.
Odd. I guess it's good for people who can't stand the 3d. But, how would you hold it? The D-pad and the buttons are on the upper and lower screens.
Nintendo is known for making a lot of pointless revisions to their handhelds. Some are improvements and some aren't.
It looks like it would be really awkward to play....But it's good for kids I guess. Eh, I'll stay with my DS Lite. :)
That is so stupid. This is like the most unnecessary thing ever. For people who don't like 3D on the 3DS...YOU CAN TURN IT OFF! Not to mention it looks like it was designed by a 5 year old.

I'm beginning to think you're a 12-year-old. At least I hope you are for your own sake. |
Oh god looks so ugly why so many nintendo handhealds when there is a switch to turn the 3d off are people that lazy they can't press a simple button. i know we make a new nintendo without the 3d stupid.
I dunno why but I REALLY like the design. I have no use for one personally, though.

Oh god....my son has that dog. :D

I think it looks awesome! I kinda want one, but it would mean transferring my profile and downloaded games to a device that doesn't fit in my pocket. And that's very not awesome.
But Reggie pointed out that this system is targeted towards five and six year olds. I don't expect it to outsell any other model, and I don't think Nintendo does, either. They just want to put Pokemon and Mario into the hands of more kids, and that means giving skeptical parents a device that looks simple and harmless. |
Its no surprise the 2DS is coming out the same exact day as Pokemon X and Y. I wonder if it will truly sell though, parents are far more likely to get 3DS XL's for their kids.
Can you explain to me why parents are far more likely to get an XL? I'd love to hear your reasoning.
