Villains not connected to Shredder or the Kraang?

When do you think we'll start to see more villains who either don't work for Shredder or aren't mutant byproducts of the Kraang?

The only one we really have right now is The Rat King. Virtually every other villain works for Shredder or used to (like Baxter), and all those rogue mutants on the loose were from Kraang mutagen.

I'd like to see more human criminals or gangsters completely seperate from this, maybe more robots or other aliens (like Triceratons) who stand seperate from them.

Technically aren't all mutants tied to the Kraang through mutagen?

Aside from that, Vic (aka Spiderbytez) really has no tie to either.

Then again, didn't Rat King's research come from Kraang tech?

Yes the rat kings experiments were based on mutagen

Not for a good, long while, I think. The thing about villains not connected to either of the major villain groups is that they require a proper context to establish them within the story, which more often than not involves creating supporting characters and backgrounds, which is something the show has proved reluctant in doing. Think of something like "Nano"--doing that episode requires the animators to create, at the very least:
  • Three Different Versions of Nano.
  • Two essential supporting characters--Harry and the Scientist who created Nano.
  • Two backgrounds the lab where Nano is created and the junkyard.
  • Whatever context-sensitive extras they may need.

That's one of the more conservative episodes, and it still requires a lot of work on assets they may not be able to reuse. On the other hand, tying characters to the Shredder or the Kraang means they get to use already established assets, which is much more cost-effective.

When Baxter becomes a fly maybe he will blame Shredder for it like in the original series. Whatever the case I hope that Baxter will no longer be on Shredder's side after his transformation if he is still on his side before hand.

after he trapped and tried to kill shredders henchmen, something tells me baxters not going to be helping shredder for right now.

Im fine with all villains being tied to one of the other right now, but welcome the possibility of another "group". maybe some one like bishop, although he seems very unlikely

Triceratrons were hinted. And I'm pretty sure they aren't gonna be tied to the Kraang/shredder

miru 08-30-2013 05:35 PM

Maybe we'll get Bishop?

Donatello19 08-30-2013 06:15 PM

Baxter is currently a stand alone villain.

If they delve into Fugitoid and the Triceritons, we may se a non foot / non Kraang villain. Unless they change them to tie into the Kraang / Dimension X narrative.
