So they're calling in favors, making amends, and gathering up allies for the war. Smart. |
Yeah, I think it'll be memories of Tang Shen that will 'un-brainwash' Leo. That seems to be what is happening here.
And cool, we get to see Harold again. |
Harold it's been a full year since we last saw you. Hahaha all we're missing is the Cat Cop and we will have a full round house of the cast.
|
i'm looking forward to seeing what unfolds. also hoping to maybe get another glimpse of hun and B&R.
|
Damn, that CP Wilson...so sexy.
I love Santolouco. He's my favorite on Turtles maybe ever, but those bandanas...the width is getting out. of. control. |
Before I went back and saw that the 1st 2 pages were Charles Paul Wilson III I swore they were just cleaned up Lawson art....styles soooo similar.

this issue bringing you the latest in turtle street fashion!
love Donny's trenchcoat/fedora - great nod to the OT. |
Blue ball cap and coat make me think, future Raph. A nod or an allusion to Raph getting an eye injury? Hope its the former rather than the latter. Touching back on Harold and Woody. This goes back to what Tom was was saying he wants to use every character brought in more than just a one ff to make thme feel like a part of the whole story. Bringing those two back proves that.
It appears Angel is hesitant to tell Raphael what Casey's father is up to. |
I love Donny's outfit, I had that action figure!
It is really great they are using the secondary human cast, it really does give this book a living breathing city to war over. |
I still dislike Raph's sai daggers. Mikey's buckteeth. And those goofy bandanas. Seriously, Donnie's covers the majority of his head.
Otherwise, this is shaping up to be another awesome issue, art aside. |

Why was there a different artist for Leo's pages? Is this a shout out? |

most likely to the Artist of the Splinter Micro. |

you don't care for the way he draws his turtles - cool. i personally was not a fan of the stylized masks, i even let him know that in a personal message, but in no way did i feel he was butchering anything. now, the masks don't bother me as much. in fact they've grown on me a little. in regards to individual style he uses for his turtles, i dig it. each turtle has a definite feel of individuality to them, the way it should be. think of it this way...if all the tmnt art styles were represented in black and white, no colored masks, no weapons, just the turtles themselves, there are only a hand full of styles where you could instantly recognize each turtle for who they are. off the top of my head, Santolouco's and Campbell's turtles are like that. that's pretty frickin cool if you ask me. having/voicing an opinion is cool, but the way you stated it is disrespectful. Cool issue. It was so awesome seeing Shredder do some dirty work and cut down some Savate. And the Splinter/Hob/Slash stuff was great. I'm already bored again with Mikey and Woody's awkward homosexual relationship, but I doubt they'll overuse the character.
Leo's dream sequence had some cheesy dialogue, but dreams are weird. It's really sad to think about how badly Kitsune has screwed him up... I am slightly annoyed by the muddied timeline though. Technically, the Hun micro takes place within the pages of #25 since this issue's attack on Savate HQ picks up directly from Shredder and the gang spying on them from the neighboring rooftop from last issue. No biggie though. It doesn't mess with the proper reading order at all, I'm just weird like that. Speaking of Hun, wasn't this supposed to be his "debut" in the ongoing? I'm more annoyed though, by how this issue ended on the exact same effing note as last month did (not to mention last months micro). Karai scheming in the background. We get it. Just show her doing something already. But like I said, overall a good issue. The CP Wilson cameo was perhaps the least necessary one so far, seeing as his art previously represented Splinter's perspective and Santolouco himself has drawn the bulk of the Feudal Japan scenes. But I'll take it. I'll also take a Valerio Schiti and Marley Zarcone page or two if possible :) |
first we saw the corrupt cops and two other dudes from the annual then we see woody and Harold. Cool! Liking this universe

Here's my review of TMNT #26 at TMNT Entity.
I enjoyed the "roll call" aspect of this issue; dredging up a bunch of supporting or one-off characters and building the roster of "human allies" for the TMNT. Hopefully it means some of the lesser utilized guys, like Harold and Woody, can get a little development. I sort of hope that this issue's fight between the Foot and the Savate wasn't the extend of the "gang war" that's been built up for the past 5 issues. The Frenchmen all kind of went down like punks. But there's still, what, 3 issues left in this arc? I'm sure there's more to come. Hob and the mutagen, though, THAT I can't wait to see. I can only imagine what his roster will be like. New characters? Familiar faces? It ought to be good. I've been looking forward to this plot thread for a while now. And good stuff on that opening page with Leo and Tang Shen. Now that we have a universe where the Turtles actually HAD a mother, I'd like to see their relationship with her explored a bit more. Good chapter. |
I thought this was one of the better issues of City Fall so far.
Everything I've seen of Mike Henderson so far has been great! He definitely has a style that is reminiscent of the old Mirage tmnt. The hat on Raphael really gives him a sweet look. Tom, poke his eye out. |
