The irony of the Shredder's fate in the 90s trilogy (spoilers)

Am I the only one here who finds this ironic?
As a normal human being in the first movie, Shredder survives having the everlivin' crap crushed out of him by a garbage truck; but, as a giant, super-strong mutant in the second movie, he is instantly killed by some wood falling on top of him.
Talk about reverse logic!

Jester 09-25-2013 11:13 PM

Wanna talk irony? I find it ironic that the tool of the brightest Turtle of the bunch can post such in inane crap.

Though you seem about a bright as a hunk of wood.

Shark_Blade 09-25-2013 11:48 PM

I just imagined a sharp plank impaled his neck during the destruction of the wood structure. As he bended his head (when **** fell on top of him), his neck's all exposed from under the helmet. Died on the spot.

The end.

You seem to not understand how irony works.

This thread is entirely for fun conversation. It's not meant to be too deep.

Spoilers? Like none of us here have never seen any of the trilogy.

You never know. There might be a turtle fan once in a blue moon who hasn't seen any of it.

You seem to not understand how fandom works.

Fixed for an additional quip.

Anything involving Shredder always has a bit of Irony.:P

Ryan in austin 09-26-2013 01:59 PM

...

Another point of irony about the 90s movie Shredder is that while he's considered one of the most menacing portrayals, when you step back and look at it, even the 80s cartoon was probably more powerful. The film Shredder was portrayed awesome, but what was his ultimate ambition? To get a bunch of street kids high and get them to play ninja, stealing him stuff off the streets. The cartoon Shredder (in either the 80s or 2000s)? To take over the world. The comics? I guess to avenge his brother?

Either way, despite such an awesome, terrifying portrayal of the villain, you have to admit his big villainous plot in the big picture was kind of goofy.

Movie shredder had a realistic goal: To rob the city blind.

And he did it with style.
It wasn't ironic that the whole mutation death happened, it woulda been ironic if HE had brought the garbage truck to kill the Turtles only to be thrown in there himself.

Bo Staff. 09-26-2013 03:29 PM

@Ryan in Austin
Yeah, I know what you mean. Aimless villains are a classic way of subracting stars from any movie.

@Powder
I've always thought the point of forums was to discuss the given subject - whether it be in serious threads or just fun threads. This thread is the latter.

Aaronardo 09-26-2013 03:52 PM

......

I swear, I'm actually being dumber from looking at some of your threads. No offense, but... yeah.

Dude, this entire forum is dedicated to the discussion of mutant turtles who know ninjutsu and love pizza. Threads can never get too dumb on here.

Powder 09-26-2013 05:04 PM

No, they definitely can. In fact, they often do.

Grizzly 09-26-2013 06:18 PM

Seriously, people. Who made you the moderators here? Lay off of people. You don't like a thread, don't participate. There's no need for the high and mighty, holier than thou, unnecessary insulting.

Christ. What's wrong with some of you?

Seriously, so many people on here have become so miserable.
I even Jester is being rude today and he's one of the nicest happy go lucky people I've seen on here.:ohwell:

This forum seems to be very newbie unfriendly, which is unfortunate since the new show should bring in a lot of fans.
