Other places where the Nick TMNT cartoon is discussed?

As we all know this forum is just one forum for the TMNT franchise across the entire internet. But what I'm mainly interested in is these so-called, "New Nick TMNT fans," that just got into the franchise because of this show.

These April/Donnie shippers, younger fans, who have no knowledge of prior TMNT.

Where else is the Nick show discussed online with a healthy fanbase? I got to see opinions that are different than the ones here.

Why, ya running out of people to piss off here at the 'Drome?

Refractive Reflections 11-23-2013 04:25 PM

:P You could always try the official Nick website message board for TMNT:

http://www.nick.com/mynick/messagebo...tml?bID=106919

I'd assume that's where viewers who are first interested/introduced to the show, would probably go to first.

By all means, go at your discretion mate.

I just want to see other opinions on the franchise who aren't hardcore TMNT fans like people here. And, if necessary, educate them on certain aspects and tailor them to the general consensus of the entire fandom.

I realize some of the people might be young kids around 10-12 years old...but its better to start young.

honestly it's either tumblr, devianart and some related tmnt 2k12 youtube video

OMFG YOU ARE INSANE.

First off... why do you call them 'so-called' fans just because they started watching the turtles with this show? Can they help it if they weren't growing up in the 80's? I find that to be very insulting. That's like me calling you a so-called Batman fan cause you most likely started with the Animated Series and never picked up a comic before then.

Secondly, they don't need to be educated about past versions or whatever. They know how to google. Plus, most stores either carry the old show on DVD, the TMNT movie 4-pack or 80's-themed Hot Topic shirts. There's a movie coming out next year not based on the new Nick show. Noone is gonna think the Turtles are some super brand new property that was just created today like Adventure Time. Any older sibling or parent can tell them 'oh yeah.... I grew up watching those guys'. They'll know there are other versions past there.

What's wrong with a little history? I'm not saying they have to even check out older stuff, just to see that they are well-informed. There's nothing wrong with some enlightenment.

The first Batman I ever saw was the 1989 movie, but I also wound up seeing the 60''s show on reruns and all other Batman incarnations.

I assumed you ended up watching the 60's show on your own accord, and not some crazy guy from a Batman forum jump down your throat calling you a 'so-called fan that must be educated' You call yourself a Batman fan??? You make me sick!! You're not fit to shine his boots, hell, not even Robin's boots! When I'm done with you, you're gonna eat Batman, breathe Batman, live Batman!! Now watch the 60's series, read at least 50 issues and watch the Keaton movies.. OR ELSE, NOOB!!!'

Ohhhh, sh*t's going down, hahahaha. Have fun.

I don't know what the overreaction here is. I'm not "forcing" anyone to do anything, just to see what they're saying and educate them on the franchise history if they don't know something.

TurtleTitan97 11-23-2013 08:09 PM

CyberCubed, if there's one think these new fans don't need, it's you "educating" (And I use the term loosely) them about the TMNT franchise. If they want to know more about the history of the Turtles, they can go look for it themselves. That's why we have the Internet.

Martin 11-23-2013 08:11 PM

No dude, I just lost it at 'educate them', haha.

Would it be any different if I said, "inform" them?

This. A thousand times this. Plus they don't need you feeding them bullcrap like 'Kraang Prime is THE Krang'.

CyberCubed 11-23-2013 08:17 PM

Some people can take an innocent topic and turn it into something its not.

Coola Yagami 11-23-2013 08:21 PM

Bottom line. Kids aren't stupid. They can google. They don't need any of us educating them. I'm sure they have their own older fans there to educate them. And if they love this show and only this show they're still just as much a fans of the TMNT as you or I.

Are you suggesting that Apritello shippers are exclusively younger and less informed? Because I ship that, I'm a very long time fan with plenty of extensive familiarity with various TMNT properties, and am probably older than you.

Not to be smug, I just sincerely wonder if that's the impression you have.

Why? What should people be wary of at that site? I just thought going to an official website of anything would be the first step.

The innocent topic statement would have been somewhat believable if you would have stuck with your curiosity standpoint, but the "educate them" is when it hit the fan. I mean, I know you're passionate about TMNT, but let's be honest... the debates and arguments you can perpetuate are drawn out too far (the extent of the whole "Kraang Prime is THE Krang" argument) and your way of approaching things have a lack of tact, and in some cases are unapologetically borderline offensive (concerning more controversial aspects like race and gender issues.)

If you are trying most of our limits of patience (most of us being teenagers and adults), just imagine how younger kids are going to react. If these kids are just that interested, as others have said, there's the internet, it's not like things today are how we grew up (when the internet was nonexistent or in its infancy) when accessing information outside of our tangible "corner of the world" was very difficult.

you sure know how of to make 'em CC i dont think youll ever learn...

if anything youre gonna end up turning people away from it and even you dont want that.
