Since Rahzar never really had much of a personality outside of Nick and the OT, which design wise do you prefer? And before this, I had completely forgotten that Rahzar and Tokka had a small cameo in Turtles Forever. Amazing what a quick glance of the internet will show you.

A tie between the movies and Nick for me.

I guess I ultimately feel like you can't top the original, but I've always been partial to the SNES version. He's quite creepy looking. But yo, the Nick version is craaaaazy! So cool.

Also, while it's not canon or whatever, you're missing one- Kevin Eastmans original design for the character.

Other then the Eastman and Nick designs, the others doesn't look like wolves at all. Movie version looks like a troll doll, and 4kids version like goofy monkey.

I mean, grey wolf... this is the animal he supposed to be mutated from:

i see alot of influence on the nick designed used it's either ciro loved eastman version more than the others or he just took a goofy looking mutant into a nightmare fuel.

The Movie version is my first impression and the best impression !!

Tazi 11-30-2013 03:57 PM

Actually, the Dogpound -> (skeleton) Rahzar transformation reminded me to Greymon -> SkullGreymon from Digimon years ago... Anyone got the same impression from it?

Probably the videogame Rahzar, although the Nick version is starting to displace him.

Honestly, I gotta say I really like that Eastman concept art. I like the character well enough mind you, but in that concept art you can see the "wolf" and that was the only thing about movie Rahzar that bugged the crap out of me, his not really looking like a wolf. I also really like Ross's Rahzar concept. Then Nicks creepy demon werewolf look is next. Spooky cool.

Nick and the games.

The movie version did nothing for me tbh.

Fred Wolf cartoon, which is a dead-wringer for the Playmates toy version.

The blue shirt and more streamlined appearance are just things I immediately associate with the character.

You know I never noticed Rahzar was always wearing a loincloth covering his pelvis in every single design up until the Nick one, which replaced the cloth with a bony pelvis.

I really like that Eastman version, but since it was only a concept and not used, I guess it's the Nick version for me. He looks amazing.

Metalwolf 12-01-2013 05:17 PM

I picked Nick. He just looks more menacing and awesome, plus he looks now to be my favorite bad guy mutant of the franchise so far (even to displacing the Cockroach Terminator and Bebop and Rocksteady!) I never had liked movie Rahzar (when I saw it in the early90s) and he just looked like an ugly monkey-wolf-troll thing. The others shown here don't do a thing for me either, so it's just Nick for me. 8)

Technically there's also a Jim Lawson Rahzar as he illustrated the Movie 2 comic adaption for Mirage/Archie.

That's really really reaching.

Both presumably have been ripped off giant monsters Gamera and King Caesar from Japanese film series "Gamera" and "Godzilla":

I know our redesigns of Razhar isn't official art but we tried to make him more wolf like and nearer to a grey wolf. Link to Razhar redesign thread here at the drome

I liked the look of DogPound MkII in the Nick show. He will make a neat figure.
